Anyone know where in your save file tools and npc costumes go?

Okay I found the mistake that was causing the bug!!! I assumed that the save editor had broken because I thought I had clicked 'add all furniture (without bugs)' on my save pior to the update but I didn't! The problem items are:

40004074 Bright Celebration Banner

Fix that item in the save editor and you should be good!

He's an updated Dict for Update 17!! I deeply apologize! It is awful hard to keep track of 4000+ items, I will do my best to be more careful in the future!!

used your new updated version and deleted all the bugged items causing the "door, and paths bug" where you cant change doors or paths. before using your version and clearing all the bugged items, i could change doors and paths, after using your updated dict. file. the bug has returned only this time i don't know what i should be removing from the list to fix the bug. any suggestions? thank you for all the updates! Aw man, when I updated it I made sure to use the 'good' furniture file BenCG3 left, Lemme look into it and see if I can find the problem!

Hi, I am newbie here but I was able to get everything I needed until update 1.14.
Now with the newest update and the "problems" with the save editor here I don't know if I can still use it? I couldn't really follow trough the discussion here as I think I got a lack of knowledge in this field. How do I put furniture etc in the game now? Sorry if this question is unnecessary as it stands here somewhere...

Also I have a problem with vanellope and her house. I had to "put her in the game" by code and her house wasn't showing up and for her second quest I have to decorate her area and I can not put her house as it's not even in the menu... how do I fix this? How do I put the house in my code to place it in my valley?

I hope somebody can explain and help me. I love this forum and all the help here and thank you all a lot, as you are game life savers.

Also important information I play on switch and don't have an original game

The Current Dict (The Folder that holds all the Furniture) is currently being Updated to fix a bug! But you should still be able to add Vannelopes house by right clicking under '"House Count" in the Save Editor! I'm assuming you have a version of the game on PC / Laptop / Steam as you need the game on PC to edit it!

Step 1: Right Click in '"House Count" in the Save Editor

Step 2: Click 'Add New Item'

Step 3: Put this information in=
Id: 20000031
Name: Vanellopes Hideout
Value (optional, default 0): 1

This should let you add Vannellopes house into the game! Make sure you don't have anything in your player inventory when you do this to prevent bugs!

Current List of Bugs in the SE:
- After Saving with the Save Editor Quest Items in your Player Inventory disappear and become unusable if not in "allknownids"
- After Saving with the Save Editor Pets Levels are Reset
- After Saving with the Save Editor Favorited Items are Removed in the Furniture Menu in game
- Currently Can't Replace Path and Doors (Being Actively Worked on)

1. Delete EVERYTHING in my furniture
2. Save
3. Open the game, return to title screen
4. Delete again
5. Re-add the furniture (the one from the new dict)
6. Open game, check to see if it's working
7. Add the quest items to the furniture dict, add those and fix the numbers in the dict.

I don't suggest doing this if you play online at all, I'm banned from multi-player so I'm okay with being a little bit more risky with my game. This is what worked for me!

Also I haven't completed part one of SBV so I'm not sure if there's any like secret uncategorgized furniture from that, so keep that in mind.

The quest furniture is on a separate JSON file in the furniture folder. Add furnituresquest to the bottom of furniture.

Try to delete the delete items and Mission items first and if that doesn't work try the second method...

From my understanding, there is no tab for these. You'd have to manually edit your save to get to these.

Upload your backup save (the one the save editor creates) in to this website [Link], and download what it gives you and you can go in and edit the tools.

CTRL F in the JSON file in Notepad++ 'tools' and check the ID's
CTRL F in the JSON file in Notepad++ the ID for NPC skin you're looking for.

You can find the ID for NPC skins and Tools under my Spread Sheet in 'NPC Skins' and 'Tools +'

Rename your edited JSON file to 'profile' and replace it in your save location
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Gameloft\Disney Dreamlight Valley\steam_76561199577447101_r
This can be different depending on where your steam games / save and stuff is located!

Should items in my player inventory have a blank item id? I'm having a weird issue where clicking transfer on some items in chests makes them just disappear instead of going into my inventory?

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you're meaning.

Are you:
1. Moving items from storage chest to your inventory and they're disappearing from your inventory in game?

2. Moving items from storage chest to your inventory and they're disappearing from your inventory in the Save Editor?

The Save Editor does not show a life feed of your game (anymore qwq) it only loads the Save! So if you're adding stuff to your inventory in the game and then open the Save Editor it won't show because the live version of your game is not the Save that is loaded into the Save editor. If that makes sense.

Actually it may not be an editor issue at all? I'm not sure. What actually was happening is my inventory has overflown in a way so I had multiple items that were actually in my inventory but not displaying in the inventory because they were offscreen in a hidden overflow? Which i didnt think was a thing.. If i cleared space in my inventory and hit sort the hidden items would come back into the inventory.. Not sure if this is a bug, a feature, etc.
