Hi folks,
As of recent, several Enhanced Editions have been released for the base S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, which can be installed at not cost - if you own the original games - on Steam. While researching on ways to unpack the game data (Enhanced Editions and this mod all use the improved - Open[?] - X-Ray Engine, so the file system is pretty much the same), I stumbled across this mod which I decided to try. It's a nice overhaul of what you used to know in terms of these games. It's based on Call of Pripyat (short: CoP), the story is decent, totally different than that of the main game's, but don't expect too much; I won't spoil it. It's worth playing, visually appealing and.. here's me with some helpers. Because you will want them.
I'll next move on to the Enhanced Editions of the main games.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1] Extracting Game Data
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned, the mod is based on CoP, so all of the editing that involves dumping data to the "gamedata" folder in the root folder of the game applies here as well. To extract everything from the game's .db files, which I've searched for high and low (there are unpackers, but for the old games' file system), you will require this:
The unpacker was obtained from this link: [Link]. It is NOT MY WORK, also not that poster's work. I've yet to find the original post, but it's surely on that forum. Just so there's no haters barging in saying I am taking credit or whatever other hateful piss T_T. The instructions are in Ukrainian and they tell that you need to unzip it to root game folder, rename "config" to "configs" sub-folder and at main menu, hit F1 key, then Tilde key, then close console and hit A to unpack everything. An "unpack" folder will be created to root that has all the data you need in it and can mod the game to your heart's content. What I mean with that is what interests you in terms of making weapons to your liking, changing properties, etc.
The archive above is already adjusted so you don't need to do the renaming steps.
Just extract it to root folder (e.g.: D:\Games\True Stalker\), run game and at main menu:
- hit F1 key
- then hit Tilde key (you will see some console red text in there with instructions)
- then hit Tilde key again to close the console
- then hit A key to extract all data
Game will freeze, wait 2-3 minutes (I have a NVMe M.2 SSD), then check main folder (you can alt-tab any time, sure). Of course, you can then delete anything you don't need from the "unpack" folder. You will need 31.4 GB of disk space.
Once you're done with it, you can remove the 'gamedata' folder (the unpacker), just so there's no confusion with the next steps regarding the Cheat Menu.
I needed this to enable the DEVELOPER MENU. See 3:14 in the video below:
The developers used the original CoP menu and translated the content to Ukrainian language; so I reverted that to be able to understand wtf is going on in there.

[2] The Cheat Menu
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As mentioned, I took some time to translate everything back to English, as there was quite a big mess in there. So if you intend to repackage this to some "mod" without giving credit where due, I would really not appreciate it T_T.. The edits I've made were done in these files:
- gamedata\scripts\ui_main_menu.script
- gamedata\scripts\ui_god_dialog.script
- gamedata\scripts\god_tbl.script
- gamedata\scripts\ts_on_key_press.script
- gamedata\configs\ui\ui_mm_cheat_dlg.xml
All of the .script files are Lua files. The .xml ones are used for ui/dialog properties (height, width, color, etc.).
In the first one I've removed a boolean control variable so that you could use the cheat menu any time, not only in a developer build (game.cheats_mode_active()). You'll see the indication that it works in main menu, where, at the bottom, the version is accompanied by this:

In the other files but the "ts" one I've restored the English wording of the menus and list of items. Again, these were originally in English, but the developers making this mod are Ukrainian, so they decided to translate everything to their language thinking no one will be interested in using this menu (they didn't even think of exposing it to players...). As for the ts_on_key_press.script file, I've exposed Numpad 1 and Numpad 2 keys so you can advance game time by 15 minutes (Numpad 1) or watch it accelerate and stop whenever you feel like (Numpad 2 to start; Numpad 2 again to stop). Will be useful if you don't like night time or for the Arena quest, where you're supposed to "visit again after 24 hours"..
So this is how it looks like now:

Additionally, while playing the game, I've mapped all the important map locations in the Teleport Coordinates menu. It reads an external file: gamedata\teleport_coordinates.txt. Which also took a lot of time to create.

How to use? Download the archive below and extract it to root folder (e.g.: D:\Games\True Stalker). Run the game, load a save, press Esc key, then F1 key. If this is your first time learning about this, I suggest you watch that YouTube video above for an explanation of the features.
NOTES:
a) Do not use the last option "True Stalker, Waypoints" as it will crash your ass. It has nothing in there. I may remove it just to be done with it.
b) To use the "Teleport Coordinates", click on the option in the menu, click on a line item, hit Apply, then in the other dialog where you now see the coordinates have updated, click "Move to Coordinates". Suffices to say you cannot teleport between maps with this. So the locations WORK ONLY WHEN YOU ARE IN THAT MAP. To save a location, click "Get Current Position" button in the top-left dialog, give it a "Name" and click "Save". That's how I saved all of these. Or.. if you know the coordinates.. edit the "teleport_coordinates.txt" file externally.

[3] The Cheat Table
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aside from the above, I've also made a small cheat table that exposes a few things. Adds toggling of god mode (will make it so carry weight is ignored), unlimited ammo and 2 scripts for controlling durability (when firing, you get full durability) and unlimited clip ammo (the bullet and its properties in your clip is never destroyed).

NOTES:
a) No, I cannot separate god mode and carry weight for you. You'll have to live without that. It's how the stock developer god mode was implemented.
b) If you save the game with a lot of overweight, you will need to enable "Toggle God Mode" in the table EVERY TIME you start the game/load a save. The Player flags are not saved in your save game, but are persistent throughout the game play session. So only need to enable the scripts once per game start/save load.
c) As I foresee this, if this is your first time using a cheat table and Cheat Engine, please learn how to use them. I'm not here to teach you those aspects.
Have any other questions? Do ask, I'll be around.
Peace out,
Sun
