I previously had all pve weapon perks unlocked, but this recent patch reset all my weapons perk distribution. I wonder if there is a pve server side check now to see if you have spent more mastery points than you should be able to.

Does anyone know if using this could mess up my online save, I used this to keep my online progression when playing PVE with Astartes overhaul, after the new patch came out I kept getting stuck at loading resources even after verifying game integrity and reinstall. Does anyone have a similar issue and have a solution ?

This happened to me with the 5.0 update. It seems that whenever there are changes to the weapon or perk systems, it can trigger a reset of the perk trees. In some frustrating cases, it even resets your mastery points to zero while keeping the weapons maxed out. From what I’ve investigated, mastery perks are handled client-side, but issues with your cloud save on Steam or Epic can cause bugs like this, which are unfortunately out of our control. Definitely frustrating.

Looks like *all* mods are triggering a CSF error and forcing offline status. Devs are investigating, this is unintended according to them. Lots of people have bugs like the loading issue mentioned above. Might mean a hotfix patch is coming soon (tm).

Using mods in the game that doesn’t fully support them can definitely cause issues like this and I'vr had it with my own personal mods. Your save probably has data tied to the Astartes Overhaul mod, and after the patch, the game doesn’t know what to do with it. That’s why you’re stuck in a loading loop, it’s trying to load items or data that don’t exist in the base game anymore. Sometimes it’ll reset your online save, other times you get stuck like this.

Here’s what you can try:

Break the Loading Loop (All online progress will be lost):
Go to C:\Users\YOURPCNAME\AppData\Local\Saber and back up your save file. (This is incase other methods can fix the save or you need to revert)
Disable Steam Cloud and Epic Cloud sync so they don’t overwrite your local save.
Launch the game fresh, like starting a new save. Once you’re in, try loading your online save.
If it works, turn cloud sync back on while the game is running, then exit normally. That should overwrite the cloud save with a BLANK version.

Wait for a Patch:
When the patched .exe and the Astartes Overhaul mod gets updated, reinstall the mod.
Load into the game, unequip any modded gear, then exit.
This should make your save more stable so it won’t break as easily after future updates.

The game’s save system stores references to specific assets like weapons, armor, or even scripts introduced by the mod. After a patch, especially if core files were modified, those references can break because the game’s data structure has changed. This causes the save to hang while it’s trying to find missing data, leading to infinite loading loops.

Disabling cloud saves helps because it isolates the issue to your local files, letting you test without the cloud constantly syncing potentially corrupted data. The reason re-enabling cloud sync after loading successfully works is that it forces the cloud to accept the new “clean” save state.

Astartes has a whole process to maintain the saves through updates; i imagine that's what ShootEmUpGuy is illuminating. i recommend joining their Discord to stay on top of it, as it seemed non-trivial and comes up often w updates.

Damn that's tough, hopefully an update would fix this, I got 4 lv25 before mod and all to 25 after :(

Makes sense, although I wonder if something else is going on. Ran some tests:
  • I compared the weapon_perks_progression_library.sso file from current and previous patch and there are no changes
  • Weapon perks are maintained/saved between closing/opening the game if I don't manipulate mastery points
  • Above is also true if I use modified sso file to remove perks being locked out by other perks and grabbing "conflicting" perks
  • Manipulating mastery points to unlock more perks than possible is resetting the weapon perks whenever I quit/start the game. Simply exiting to the main menu and loading back in also causes it. Even being above by 1 perk is leading to the perk reset
Wonder if anyone else is getting the same results. In the meantime guess I'll just stick to normal perk loadout.

I did some additional testing on my end, and you’re absolutely right—there’s definitely something governing the perks library beyond just the visible files. My hunch is that there’s a file somewhere defining the allowable mastery points per weapon, possibly acting as a server-side validation or a hidden client-side check. I’m going to dig around and see if I can track down any .sso files that might be handling this. I’ll report back once I find something interesting!

I've dedicated the better part of 9 hours rigorously testing PvE across all game modes and difficulty levels, both in private lobbies and public matches. From my observations, I can confidently confirm that this patch is functioning flawlessly. I’ve also modified multiple .pak files, re-cached them, and made adjustments to private server-side assets—everything is operating seamlessly without any issues. chef’s kiss

i had my own not-working copy and combined it w Klerik's work. if you're having trouble w Klerik's, use this version:
[Link]

...though i suspect the issue you're having is that Klerik is providing only the modified Retail.exe and not the modified EAC file which is also required, and not that Klerik's Retail.exe is being detected. i included that file in the ufile link, and a txt file of instructions.
