regular bypass works without the modified exe? sorry for the dumb question I really thought the exe was also needed to launch the game after the bypass x.x

i meant "regular bypass method". the previous method to patch the EXE still works on the new EXE and gets you onto the Battle Barge. i don't release that stuff, it's a method that someone else showed me and i'm not comfortable releasing what's essentially their work.

oh no no that's all good, all I really wanted to know was if the bypass worked and it did, I can basically launch and mod currency with cheat engine and whatnot so that's not too bad :)

Do you mind sharing whats the regular method ?
I copied all the relevant files(bypass and retail.exe) and i just keep getting crashes

Those files aren't going work because the bypass if for the old exe. I think he means you can maybe use cheat engine in the battlebarge to edit values like currency even if EAC is running, not sure

Ok, so when i do that however it crashes the game. when it loads and i end up in the battlebarge it crashes.

old bypass still works, u still can go to battle barge...but it detected as u using mod...so u can only play with private lobby not public one

Yeah it's annoying. The old bypass did work I did get in but progression isn't saved because it detects modded files so if I mod the currency it amounts to nothing really.

Guess I'll have to grind for those cosmetics ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey everyone, quick heads up! If you’ve updated Space Marines 2 with today’s patch, be cautious. A lot of players on the Steam community are reporting some major issues. First, there are crashes after just a few minutes of gameplay, likely due to memory or resource allocation problems. There’s also noticeable lag from server-client desynchronization, causing stuttery gameplay and input delay.

Some players are running into corrupted or bugged saves with missing items, and weapons/armor being reset to defaults—this seems to be an issue with save file handling or game state management.

On top of that, the Q key isn’t working properly, which could be linked to changes in key mapping or input events. The patch was meant to fix the Perry mechanic (which got reworked in 5.0 due to complaints), but it’s actually made things worse, introducing new bugs.

They also added graphics fixes, but now players are seeing huge FPS drops, even on the lowest settings, which points to optimization issues. Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

i can get in w a modified PAK (i use the no splash screens on launch mod) but the first mission i dropped into, i didn't have infinite ammo but didn't get kicked, either. interesting... i may not have plugged all my leaks.

EDIT - oops. just did a shitty job w the PAK. forgot to actually put in the modified files. works fine.

Hi, I don't want to sound ungrateful but the Retail.exe_MODIFIED in your file causes CTD error. The 5.0 version works fine but I can only run solo.

yeah, forgot to disable the PAK cache check. i use Pakmanager to write the Caches, i'm always concerned that there's an issue without the cache (not that i've seen any) and forgot this is a public release and i really should've mentioned that since folks got used to not having the cache.

if you were CTDing but had the proper PAK cache then i'm confused and you should let me know.
