Download Notepad++ and edit the XML files found in Assets. Only a bit of exploring is needed to be able to edit practically everything. LOS, the stats your soldiers start with, the stats of your airplanes, the selling price for items....all the good stuff.

How does that get me god mode?

Well, not "God Mode" exactly. But you can juice the starting stats of hires up to 100. And, I haven't played this for a while but I think that gives them stupidly high chances to dodge, loads of health, basically never miss (They can't hit you if you are dead) and the other edits makes sure they all have the best gear all the time.

If you have unlimited tu, does it matter to have the attribute?

that's great if it works... but for what ever reason it doesn't register the changes i make... i edit the file, save it load the game and poof all default setting at start up... doesn't matter if it's the vanilla game, modded, or in editor mode.... always the same no matter what i do i get default settings on steam.

anyone else get this issue? I haven't found a solution to this.

If you use the Community Edition of the game, you need to modify the xml files located in the ...\Xenonauts\assets\mods\xce folder. I tried modifying the gameconfig.xml file to change the starting fund to check, and it worked.
