To get you up to speed, recent patch has bricked the bypass, if you use the bypass game will revert to offline mode even if you use the steam console to download the older game version, you can edit paks and obtain consumables.

no current workaround at the moment.

I've downgraded and been trying, even upgraded to the "pro" version. I can't get any of the trainers to work. Downgrading does seem to allow the Wemods Infinite grenades but nothing else.

I tried with editing the pak file but that doesn't work for me. Also don't want to have to degrade to be able to edit either.

Latest patch nerfed the pak editing, if you edit a pak now the game crashes as the md5 hash check failed verification.
As it stands, unless you're one of the few who installed a very specific version of sm2 from the depot and you keep your game offline then you can enjoy mods, if you've updated to the latest you have no means of playing with mods.
Bit annoying really as I missed out on my window to mod the game and max out everything in a single match lmao.

I'd like to use cheat engine to get the damage number of attacks, like how much the chain sword foot stomp does or the bullet damage of certain weapons. Is that something I can do with the help of this trainer with some extra tinkering?

This is false, i've managed to download the older version and use the current bypass from here paired with Wemods ini file, put myself offline in steam and used CE to modify a bunch of currencies, also used wemods for Infinite grenades and did a few Ruthless missions in operations to level up my last class to 25.

Well yeah, it surely works that way but can't bypass the current version. Well that's what I know atm
