Ouch, I don't think I've ever done that but then I usually try to do all the collecting ASAP. Heck I grab the first little pig within the first 5 minutes of gameplay.

what about lives? don't worry too much about health. did you try other things? if you like i can share my save to help with research. i'm 127/130 (which is every optional quest done) events cleared and my health is at max.

When you have the correct address you should be able to modify it to the value you want. Well, at that point you would have to go back to the advanced game (the one where there are no butterflies in the jungle) and once that game is loaded, try modifying the value.
