Second: Do you people even know how the loot system works, or the game?? If you get 1000 weapon crates, does not mean you get 1000 weapons...950 are worse then you already have, and the rest are upgrades, maybe few new ones. And it also depens on what you already have! The more weapons you have the less you get.
#1 Just writing to update that the v13 table seems to cause the game to freeze for me when picking up a certain number of Armor pickups with the limit-off code ticked on. This is the first time this has happened to my game (finished it once already).
#2 Other than some unknown hard cap (I think EDF 5 had 6500 or so per mission but not my finding so don't quote me on that), I think the general idea is that you get a few set specific weapons per mission+difficulty by RNG per pickup, and most of the time you get duplicates of already existing ones. The duplicates sometimes have better * on some weapon stats, and those get added to your existing weapon of the same name as "upgrades". Most of the time you get the exact same weapon though so you still don't get "upgrades" all the time even with tons of drops, making farming a tedious slog.
As for the bit about unlocking new weapons, I'm pretty sure that's how it works outside of DLC missions which I have no knowledge of right now. I recall unlocking the same weapons after doing certain specific missions across two save files. Oh, and just a tip for players, if you get a power outage while at the post-mission loot screen, high chance your save will get corrupted.
