Dragon Quest IV [Bluestacks (Mobile) or MelonDS (NDS)] [+26]

Post by DrummerIX »

I kind of wish they would port this game to PC or Switch, but it is available on NDS and mobile platforms. They say the mobile version is the better version of the 2 (it was also originally released on NES). I believe this is due to party chat.

So, I thought I would try something new and see if I can make a table for this game. I am using Bluestacks 5 (you can turn off the ads). You can grab that [Link].

Now mobile uses funky touch controls, so in order to help alleviate issues with that, I am using JoyToKey program to assign controller buttons to specific actions. A reddit post gave information on setting that up [Link]. I will post my work in progress config file for JoyToKey in the next post. You can try using that if you wish to use a controller with this game in Bluestacks.

My JoyToKey config file assumes you maximize the Bluestacks window after you start the game.

So with that out of the way, I have never made anything for mobile games using Bluestacks, so this is just a test to see if things work for others like they work for me. If you are interested in playing this game with my table, please let me know how it goes for you.

Options[+17]:
  • Activate Trainer
  • Activate Trainer 2 (Get Pointers, Required for Other Options To Function)
  • Save Current Trainer Values
  • Load Current Trainer Values
  • Change Slot Config Description
  • Enable Gold Multiplier
  • Gold Gain Multiplier
  • Gold Loss Multiplier
  • Enable Mini Medal Multiplier
  • Mini Medal Multiplier
  • Enable Casino Tokens Multiplier
  • Casino Tokens Gain Multiplier
  • Casino Tokens Loss Multiplier
  • Infinite Items In Bag (Set Minimum Amount To 5)
  • Gold
  • Casino Tokens
  • Mini Medals
  • Bag Slot 1 Item ID

For grabbing the pointers, I need you tell me your current Gold value. I have a prompt that asks you this when you Activate Trainer 2.

EDIT 1:

It is possible to patch the NDS version with party chat if you like to play that version. I have attempted to get used to the mobile version with Bluestacks, but even with JoyToKey, I find it annoying to move around, so I patched the NDS version with party chat and started up MelonDS. I have the table working with it also if you wish to use it that way. I am adding this version of the table to the third post here.

EDIT 2.0:

I ported what I could from the NDS table over here to bluestacks (mobile) version. The mobile version seems to handle character information differently, so I cannot port over Infinite HP and EXP Multiplier and the like for now. I switched to playing on MelonDS with a patched game to put back in party chat personally. I made this up to +17 though with the additions and I added the Item List to this version also. I guess you can use the debug item to auto kill enemies if you want something easy in this version.

How to use this cheat table?
  1. Install Cheat Engine
  2. Double-click the .CT file in order to open it.
  3. Click the PC icon in Cheat Engine in order to select the game process.
  4. Keep the list.
  5. Activate the trainer options by checking boxes or setting values from 0 to 1

EDIT 1.5:

I fleshed out the table for MelonDS a little.

[*]Infinite HP
[*]Infinite MP
[*]Enable EXP Options (Multiplier, Non Party Gain EXP)
[*]EXP Multiplier

EDIT 2.0:

I added a couple more things to the NDS version. I think only thing left might be an item id list, which I might work on later.

[*]Simulate Staying At Inn (Restore ALL HP/MP)
[*]Simulate Prayer Ring Use On Everyone (Restore 20 MP)
[*]EXP Loss Multiplier
[*]Non Battle Party Members Gain EXP

EDIT 2.5:

I added some more things for Mini Medals and Casino Tokens and also put in the Item ID List so you can get any item by changing the first slot of your bag. There is a debug item (Mimic stone) that wipes out enemies and also a Blarney stone that seems to wipe out party like the Snuff Box did in DQ3. Enjoy!

I think all that is left is for me to port all this to the Bluestacks table.

[*]Enable Mini Medal Multiplier
[*]Mini Medal Multiplier
[*]Enable Casino Tokens Multiplier
[*]Casino Tokens Gain Multiplier
[*]Casino Tokens Loss Multiplier
[*]Casino Tokens
[*]Mini Medals

EDIT 3.0:

I found a problem with Infinite Items In Bag that caused Gold to mess up, so I fixed that in this update. I added some extra descriptions on some items that are usable in battle. I believe this table is fleshed out enough for my liking. Enjoy!
