Trying to increase money in "Good Pizza, Great Pizza".

I'm trying to edit (increase) money in Good Pizza, Great Pizza. I understand that this game previously used Unity, but is now using Cocos2d-x. I tried the "Unknown Value" > "Decrease" method, and I was able to find an address which I believe may correspond to money. However, when I edit the value, no change is made in-game, even when I freeze the value in Cheat Engine. I've tried using the debuggers available via Cheat Engine to see if there's anything is writing to the address I found, but when I do that, the game immediately crashes when I try to do anything. I tried enabling "Try to prevent detection of the debugger", but nothing changed.

Could someone point me as any next steps I could take?
