Postal 2 (Steam-US-1417-Hotfix 1)

Post by STN »

Created a new working table for Postal 2 Version 1417 Hotfix 1.
It was a damn mess to let the pointer scanner work through 4.5 billion results... Surprised
But it was worth it Wink

The following options are working (even after loading zones and restarts):

- Health
- Ammo for your current weapon (works also for the petition on Tuesday)
- Police Level

Hotkeys are:
F1: Freeze and increase health
Shift+F1: Add 10 points to health
F2: Freeze and increase ammo (buggy!*)
Shift+F2: Add 20 ammo to current weapon
F3: Freeze and decrease police level
Shift+F3: set police level to 0

*There is one big issue with the ammo pointer:
The big problem is that the pointers are switching in unregular behaviour for a really short time. When there was a high enough value there is an overflow and your ammo is negative. If so your current weapon has no ammo (but needs ammo) and will be gone and the next one is chosen. So you will lose all weapons which need ammo and are unable to recollect new weapons.

I suggest you just add enough ammo to circumvent this problem. Also you should deactivate all freezes before walking into loading zones else it could give unpredictable side effects.

And now enjoy this table =)

P.S:
I categorized the entries with several pointer paths just in case one is not working any more. The hotkeys are set for the first entry in each of the three categories.

What you can do is the following:
Open the game and attach CE with Postal 2 table. When you see ?? as value double click the address to see all pointer. Then one of them is porinting wrong for you. Which one is it? Perhaps I can fix it this way.

I also try to make health mode better. Just need to find a reasonable comparison to differ between your health and all other peoples health. Then the pointer will just be there to see your current health.

An easy but not so comfortable way is to find the address every time you change your location on the map. The health is 4 Byte multiplied by 3. So when you have 100 health you search for 300. For 125 health you search for 375. The value will only change at loading zones.

@MrCherryFanta:
I noticed that my ammo and inventory count weren't working when starting the game and loading a save from Thursday. After loading Tuesday and then Thursday it worked again as the address "D3DDrv.DLL"+000C4FC0 wasn't working. So have you already tried a new game? I tested it with Hestonworld, average and Postal difficulty and all values are there.

Finally found a way to implement an easy health mode. I just checked for my current health and deactivated increase (e.g. by health pipes) and decrease. It is absolutely neccessary that when activating health mode your current health is 100 else it won't work. So when you want to use it and your health is below 100 use the health pointer or serach and change your health to 100 (value to search for is health * 3). Hope you can now enjoy the game more. I kept the "health mode for all" for gamers who wants to make a run w/o killing anyone.

Leave a feedback if all is working for you.

Seems like my health mode is not perfect as it sometimes freezes the Y-axis of your view. To eliminate that just deactivate and reactivate health mode. Sry for not having a better solution.

Added:
- running time of the game itself
- player stats w/ savegame time

Shift+F1: Add 10 points to health
F2: Add 20 ammo to current weapon (freeze ammo was removed and shouldn't be used)
F3: set police level to 0
F4: no ammo decrease
