Thanks for this table, especially for the jump/fly hack. It's probably the most useful tool for this game and the hardest to find (even for the prequel...). Cheers!
How to use this cheat table?
Install Cheat Engine
Double-click the .CT file in order to open it.
Click the PC icon in Cheat Engine in order to select the game process.
Keep the list.
Activate the trainer options by checking boxes or setting values from 0 to 1
please update cause the version i have it on steam is not compatible with the table as you warned . i have version 1.5 something and yours is 1.4 something. THank you
I really had to pop my cherry for posts here.
Went in thinking it wouldn't work because of the version difference - I started using it halfway through the story and I'm currently in the DLC now. Everything still works fine!
Only used the scripts, and they work well.
Playing it on v1.5.80
Again.. that message in my table is a WARNING, not an ERROR "May" is not "won't" As long as nothing major changes in the compiled exe on each update, the table will continue to work.. despite the message showing differences in versions.
Greetings and many thanks for you amazing table! It's the best one around for this game, hands down.
I have it running every time I play.
I especially love the jump-fly script. This makes possible jumping on top of big machines (Slaughterspine/Thunderjaw/Tideripper etc)
when you knock them down or shock them, to get close to some of their mid-section components.
If you attempt this, by default you would just slide off of them at the first jump and it would be impossible to ever scale them (collision settings, guess?). And doing so is useful, for example Thunderjaws have a bunch of canisters hidden between their launcher guns, on top of their backs, and you can't get to them (to blow them up) if you down the machine & are on flat ground with no way to see that weakspot (because no jumping on machines, you slide off).
This was actually possible to do in the previous game (Horizon Zero Dawn) but it was changed for this one. I used to ride Thunderjaws for sport like at the rodeo!
There are two aspects I truly despise about this game, and wish a great modder like you could fix, hear me out.
Do you think something like this is possible to change, and if so, would you attempt it?
1) Limiting you to one Valor Surge equipped at all times (WHY???)
There are a few really cool ones, but the game forces you to choose one and that's it. If you want to change it you have to do it in the menus, and this just straight up sucks! I often change between all the Spear focused Valor Surges, even in the same fight, but opening and scrolling menus really breaks the flow & rhythm of gameplay...
It would be amazing to be able to cycle through multiple Valor Surges on the fly without touching menus, something similar to cycling Weapon Techniques in the Weapon Wheel
(why the devs didn't put this into the game from the beginning is beyond me... at least 3 Valor Surges to cycle through, it's such an obvious idea, if you created a dozen abilities, give them to the player to use as they see fit, why lock it in the menus... /rant closed)
Could this maybe be done with some memory edits binded to a hotkey? (I have no coding skills, just guessing)
and last but not least
2) Customizing the ammo types for your equipped weapons (again, WHY NOT???)
If you look closely, very few weapons in the game have the ammo type combinations you would actually want to use at all times.
You get one weapon with 2 out of 3 ammo types for the same damn element, when in the game you have machines with canisters spawning 6 elemental types (fire - acid - shock - frost - plasma - purgewater), and 4 more alternative elements/states (explosive - beserk - slowed - confusion).
To have on you at all times the arrows targeting all these elements, you would need to equip at least 4 different bows on your Weapon Wheel, but hey, you made 6 more weapon types, where would those fit in your arsenal if you are limited to 6 slots?
Again you are forced to endlessly re-open menus every 2 minutes and change weapons mid-fight because you don't have arrows for all elemental canisters present on the combination of machines you are currently fighting. This sucks!
Some ammo types are simply useless, and especially so on legendary weapons. Let me list a few offenders and suggest an obvious fix:
Targeting Arrows - absolutely useless, a waste of an ammo slot on most Hunter Bows, but especially so on legendary ones.
Death-Seeker's Shadow (Shock ammo) & Tears of the Land-gods (Purgewater) are the best hunter bows in the game, you are probably always running one of these at all times.
If instead of Targeting Arrows for these 2 hunter bows, you would have Shock ammo & Purgewater ammo on both of them, combined with the Sun Scourge hunter bow (Acid-Frost-Fire), you would already have 5 of the 6 elements to hit canisters with on just 2 bows, only missing Plasma.
Plasma Arrows are available on Sharpshot Bows, but for these you would want a 'perfect' combination of ammo types, again, no wasted spots.
The close-to-perfect ammo combo already exists in the game, actually, but it's NOT for a legendary, so it has the weaker arrows:
Glowblast Sharpshoot Bow has normal Precision, Tearblast & Plasma Arrows.
These are the ammo types you want on a legendary Sharpshot Bow, but the Advanced versions. Some might argue for the Strikethrough Arrows ammo type, and that would be fair enough!
The Forgefall & Iriv's Downfall are the 2 best legendary Sharpshot Bows in the game, but they sadly have wasted ammo spots, and this should be changed as such:
Forgefall has normal Plasma & Advanced Plasma Arrows at the same time, while it would be better if the normal Plasma Arrow was replaced with a Tearblast Arrow
and
Iriv's Downfall has Advanced Precision & Elite Precision Arrows, while it would be better if one of those would be an Advanced Plasma Arrow.
Maybe one of these should have Strikethrough Arrows instead of Advanced Precision, I'd say the Forgefall.
Just these 2 tweaks to the mentioned Hunter Bows & Sharpshot Bows ammo types would allow you to have all 6 main elemental types to hit all corresponding canisters with on just 3 bows, leaving 3 slots open for other weapon types.
I don't want to carry only bows on me, and I don't want to be half the time in the damn menus, Guerrilla!
As for some other offenders... why put normal & advanced ammo of the same type on legendary weapons?
Rapid fire listing:
Wings of the Ten - legendary blastsling, has the best perks, I don't use it because has 1 wasted ammo spot (both normal & advanced explosive bombs)
The Skykiller - spikethrower, same story.
Defience - spikethrower has Impact Spikes ammo, which is absolutely useless and inferior to every other type.
And there might be more, but they don't come to mind now.
Legendary weapons should have only the Advanced ammo type and no wasted spots for useless ammo. I have legendaries in the endgame, I have grinded enough resources, I don't need to 'save' or 'fly economy' class with your cheap ammo variants on the strongest damn weapons, Guerrilla!
As mentioned, it would be amazing if there would be a way to have live fully customizable ammo types on the equipped weapons, but if 'fully customizable' is not possible, at least having these suggested changes hardcoded would be the same thing, really.
Could this be done with some memory edits?
Sorry, this became a long post, but I don't have the coding skills to do something like this, the least I can do is give the ideas to someone capable, like yourself.
Sorry, first-up, I'm not a "modder". Secondly, the kind of adjustments you mentioned are complicated to achieve through executable code changing while game is running. They're more at the level of modifying asset default configuration, in the game files. You can give Nukem's tool a go and see if the various Properties you can play with in there help achieve some of them. Google "horizon forbidden west gameplay tweaks and cheat menu", first link.

thanks for the reply
I suspected it might not be as simple to make as I imagined it... but I was smoking the hopium
I did some very light modding for some other game myself, and it's always harder than expected.
I do use Nukem's tool, it's awesome. I left him a message about the valor idea, but I won't keep my hopes up. Guerrilla messed up not adding something as basic as this, I'll never forgive them!
best of luck to you, and thanks again for the mod!
Thank you so very much for all the work you have done over the years and for sharing them with the community, SunBeam. I have used your tables for years and I wish I had acknowledged you every single time for them. You are an amazing human
