Just to add to Quang Billy 79, the table posted earlier in this thread by DrummerIX is incredible.

I have used CE throughout the series for Item Quantity (to save grinding) and the occasional book I may have missed (like, maybe 2 over the entire series?).

Only comment I could make is that while items are indeed infinite from, say, the item menu in the field or in battle, it isn't in like the Cooking Recipes, and an item isn't "duplicated" when you equip something (it is in the list as having "0"). These are things that did occur in earlier titles, was super handy when upgrading quartz or weapons etc.

I mean it isn't a big deal, the table is incredible as is and easily serves as Fearless's official table, but if those little tweaks could be made, that would be awesome.

Top notch stuff, either way, though.

@DrummerIX

Hey, let me know if I'm doing this wrong, but I recall that you can get any items after using/tossing the item
when override with item gain is on.

I noticed that when I do it, the item is discarded/used and I get the override item, however it is at x0 instead of the set quantity I set it to override as.
Works as intended in overriding with items obtained from monsters/chest.
But the old combo of infinite item usage + override item id broke.

Just wondering if the game changed something that the old implementations of the script stopped functioning as previously known.

Thanks

They changed some things with the code of items. The easiest way I am told it works is to unequip some quartz with Override Item ID on. With quartz and equipment, you have to have one unequipped and toss it to set the minimum quantity now instead of just equip it.

First off, As with the previous game I am including a debug room save which may help cheat code people get to areas and features they are interested in such as end game abilities, flags, unlocking all notebook entries, or minigames, etc plus it is just fun to mess with.
Image

Attached is a python command line script that decompress a save file and after you have edited it, fixup the custom initialized checksum and recompress it. It requires python of course and the zstandard library python -m pip install zstandard , this will allow you to edit the saves in a hex editor. Offset 0x41C is the string for the map, change it to a0000 for debug which may work better with end game saves than mine from the way beginning. The examples below assume you removed the .txt extension when saving the python script.

Example usage:
Decompress:
python reverie_save_editing_enabler.py -d save000.dat
hex edit the decompressed file then
Fix checksum and recompress:
python reverie_save_editing_enabler.py -c save000.dat.decompressed

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who hate holding down "T" or the left shoulder button to see the hp bars, as I have done for CSIII & CSIV, attached is always show subinfo. Feel free to add to any table.

Edit now added a disable clipping code so you can walk through walls. Sometimes there are people you can only talk to thanks to this method.
Attachments
Disable Clipping and Always Show Sub Info.CT
Can disable some clipping involving walls, objects seem to remain solid.

Not easily, that script is the first steps on allowing a person to make a save editor, it doesn't actually edit the data used in game on its own. In previous games I used [Link] to write zeros and 0xFF to large areas of my saves to find the NG+ flag and enable notebook entries on missable enemies I missed, or did some small actions in game and compared saves, all depending on what I was looking for.

What can be done currently is hex editing your save to the debug room map, talk to the character right of the motorcycle and see if one of those options work for you, then fast travel back or walk to a place on the debug map whose coordinates are safe and hex edit back to the map you started on.

This same process could be used to help in the search for cheat codes for party editing, as you might also require a cheat code to increase the slots if you want a bigger party and the debug room lets you do that, which is the main reason I shared the debug room in case somebody wanted to do something like that.

If you do use the debug room, just keep in mind that while many options are benign, and some can be reversed by going back and picking a different option, just like cheats, some can make your game malfunction where you'll have to restart with a save before whatever you did was used, and some you might not even realize for hours or days of playing.

Yeah I know it can break my game and I was hoping the process was easier. I just want a party editor like the previous games' tables had. It makes playing the games so much more fun since with a cast that huge waiting like 30 hours to add the one you want in your party is torture.

Is there anyone who can translate this into step by step instructions? I want to use get any missables that I passed by. For example I don't know how to use python.

You can use Override Item ID from my table to get any item which covers most missables.
