Help modifing switch game

Hey, I'm trying to modify Theatrhythm Final Bar on switch emulator, there's an item that multiplies XP so I want to give myself more of them, I'm not very knowlegeable at using cheat engine, normally what I do is put the number in cheat engine with 4byte, double or float (if I'm not sure which one it is I'll usually do all of them) and use the item a couple of times and then search for the new amount, but it's not working for me when I do this. Anyone here with a big brain able to help me with this?

Make sure MEM_MAPPED is on in the Scan Settings
