There is most likely going to be a patch in the next 2 weeks or so. Their timeline seems to suggest a late spring patch, and with Spring ending on June 20th, we might see something soon or a release of June 19th. They may have fallen behind schedule, and with them cracking down on people who have done the idiotic thing to sell hacks/premium/star path items or just straight up revealing them on their streams, we might see the end to this hack with the future patch.
Fingers crossed that if/when it comes it's not hard to fix and that it's still doable, if it's not...well just blame the people who thought it was "smart" to charge for stuff they shouldn't.
Do you think they'll ban people that are using cheat engine? I want to combine my steam account with my main game pass account so I can use cheat engine on my main. But I don't wanna attach it yet until I know if they're gonna start banning people next update. I haven't done any chests or gave anyone anything in scrooges shop. Only thing I've done as of right now for testing was give myself the Peter Pan hat premium shop item from last week.
Also let me know if I can help in any way. I appreciate what you and everyone does for the community. Thanks!
If you are doing it for personal use, really I don't see what they could do in terms of "banning" people. It's a paid game and overall it costs enough money for the game + the expansion. It's greedy of them to have microtransactions in a paid game. I really doubt a few people doing it for their own personal gameplay is damaging anything, what they will crack down on is people abusing it in terms of sharing hacked items across valley visits. Valley visit data can be tracked since it happens over the server. Anything that happens on the client without an internet connection necessary, can and will be always modified, people will find a way. Furthermore since it's a Unity game you can literally exploit the majority of things through the mono features in Cheat Engine. They could if they really wanted to just figure out a way to make memory intrusion more difficult, detecting certain apps, etc. Personally I think that it's pointless for them to do that at this point. These sort of decisions should have been made during the development phase and during early access.
So to clarify my thoughts, yes they will (and should) patch the blue chest hack, most likely will crack down on people have have abused it in multiplayer, single-player gameplay should be fine. Yes it's against the TOS and whatever, but really it's none of their business what you decide to do on the client. You can block the internet connection entirely, I cannot see a possible way they could ban you from playing by yourself.
Thank you for answering! The chest hacks and selling items is extremely out of hand and has made it bad for the people who innocently just wanted to offer a little help. I only play for myself and just hope they don't crackdown on all players who've used cheat engine for themselves only. I do use multiplayer features in that I participate in snaps and shop other players designs and shops vice versa how the game intended. But never cheated in the multiplayer system as that's risky in itself.

Someone answered you before I got a chance to (I just spent 3 hours cleaning my kids playroom....), but yah there is always an inherent risk of doing these things, I don't like to abuse it too much, I mainly use it for the items that I really just couldn't bring myself to buy naturally, but I want my collection completed. Most of the time I'm using it to complete my normal tabs, and I've legit bought most of the stuff with Moonstones that I've won through Dreamsnaps (highest I've won was 8k, but I average 4k a week). If they fix it, it happens, but the merlins chest one NEEDS to be addressed foremost because that was just ridiculous and I'll be frank when I say I am very mad about the whole situation.
There is a reason I flag things as "Unreleased" or as "Not In Game yet" etc because those items should not be obtainable by players just yet, and all you're doing is bringing attention to yourself if you get them when you are not suppose to.

And yeah idk who started the whole chest drops, they just made things bad for everyone. I make pretty much 4k every week as well so I have majority of the items legitamely. I've supported the game on several platforms as well .I've spent alot of time and money in the game and hate for it to be limited in some way because of a few bad apples.

I added them, guess because they were some that were early/easy to obtain they were just left out! I didn't start the initial table, I just took over maintaining it and made my own copy because people kept messing up the public one so badly.
Hey new to this chat… I started modding the save file and I did a few chests and was just checking what you can and can’t put in. I tried moonstones and it popped up on my shop but once I purchased something my moonstones reverted. Does anyone know if there is away to go around this?
