I just got the game and this helped me to remember what I did in f1 22 lol. I still had the folders on my desktop. Already started to fix Mclaren car and drivers to do better.

For the people asking where do you change this or that in the DB lite, just go to each tab and see what's in it. That is what I did last year and was able to find pretty much everything. So if you want to give your team or other teams a lot of money, wind tunnel time, etc. just check the tabs to find it. For example you can change the building upgrade level or up keep cost go to the BULDINGS tab. You can change how much each building cost at each level and their up keep cost. Also change the construction cost.

Edit: So no matter what I did, if I tried to change the driver to another team in DB or if I changed their negotiation with your team to open (which caused them to be moved free agent when you logged back into the game) the game would crash when you got to race weekend. I tried everything but the game would always crash there. So the only way I can see with putting whoever on your team or others, like Daniel, on another team was going into DB and going to the Players tab. Change your team to whatever team you want. So say you are Williams and you want Zhou on Williams. Go to player tab and change it to Alfa and sign someone to replace Zhou. Then go back to DB (after you save your game and such) and change your team back to your team (Williams) in Player tab. Go back to the game and you should be able to sign Zhou as a free agent. No crashes at all after that.

Not sure why it's not working like it did in F1 22. I believe it's because the Contract Type in the Staff_Contracts tab is not leaving them on their team after you change it so you can negotiate with them. It moves them to free agent so you can negotiate and that messes up the game I guess.

No crashes with anything else I have changed in DB, so that is a good thing.

If anybody else is wondering this doesn't seem to work with the gamepass version of F1 23.
I got an error "Error -3 while decompressing data: incorrect header check" when trying to unpack my save file. There is a another basic editor out there that does work (google it) but it only lets you edit people data rather than giving you access to the full db like this.

I got this also a couple of days ago on a new save. Couldn't figure out why as I didn't get it before. From what I can figure out it's because I change the difficulty to HARD. I had change it to Hard for races and this is when I kept getting this error. I had to actually start over with another new save and leave it on normal. So I will say to do all your changes on the initial save file under NORMAL, then after you are done change it to hard if that is what you are going to play on. Now I have no clue if it corrects itself after you do the first race, but I say to do all your changes prior to changing the difficulty.

Did you find another way to make it work?
Sorry I just got back into the game again. No I never did find a fix for that, but I haven't had it not work. I changed the difficulty in the DB instead of the game and so far have no issues with it not working anymore.

Only things you need to know are: what and where to copy things.
Basically you want to start by exporting the table to another file (like normal Excel or LibreOffice) so that you have the originals value (you will need it later). Then there are few things to know: Part Types and Design ID for each team.
PartsType are listed in the classical Enum, and they are: 3 Chassis, 4 Front Wing, 5 Rear Wing, 6 Sidepods, 7 Underfloor, 8 Suspension (with 1,2,3 being the Engine, Ers, Gearbox).
DesignID it's tricker (I think): you need to go to Parts_CarLoadout and from TeamID and PartsType you can find the DesignID for each component of each car. Basically they are: 34-39 Mercedes, 50-55 Williams, 13-18 Ferrari, 22-27 McLaren, 28-33 Rb, 41-46 Alpine, 59-64 Haas, 68-73 Alpha Tauri, 77-82 Alfa Romeo, 86-91 Aston Martin.
(P.s. I just edited car parts, not the engine itself, even though I could. Btw, it has already been posted on page 2).

What you want to do is to simply copy (in DesignStatsValue) all the columns from Values (till the last one) and all the lines from the first DesignID: 50 to the last DesignID 55 (There are multiple lines for each DesignID (=Front Wing, Sidepods, etc) because each car parts has multiple StatsID (=DragReduction, BrakeCooling, etc)) and paste them over the Mercedes lines (select again all the columns from Values (till the last one) from the first line of DesignID 34 to the last line of 39 and paste).
By doing so Mercedes has the same car parts of Williams.

Now, if you want to give Williams the Mercedes car parts, you will need the other file (the original backup file). From here you have to copy the originals Mercedes Values (DesignID: 34-39) and past it over the Williams Values (DesignID: 50-55) in the Db browser.
(That's how I find out you can just copy from libreoffice and paste it over into db browser, without manually writing all the values :) )

It's a lot of writing, but it's extremely easy to do and works perfectly fine.

So to piggyback on what Lord found out (if anyone is still playing this before the new one comes out), I also found out that even changing that makes your next design give huge amounts so you are right back to being where your team was before and then some. I figured out how to change that also. You can make it so your at least initial design's give small or big upgrades. It is under Parts_TeamExpertise and filter it under team ID, it shows all the partType and partStat. PartType is what part of the car it is. PartStat is what part of the design is.

You want to start at partType 3. I did not mess around with parts 0-2. So say you do part 3, Gearbox, next to part 3 it shows partstat. So the first one shows partype 3 with partstat 4. So gearbox with dragReduction. My DragReduction was giving me like .80 which is crazy high which I realized it was going off my old design (Per Lord I moved Alfa to Haas but my first design was going off of Haas previous rating so it was giving me huge ratings like DragReduction). Sorry if I am not making a lot of sense lol. Anyways I changed the Expertise and the SeasonExpertise to whatever number I wanted to drop it to. Made sure they where both the same. So for team 7 (haas) gearbox with drag shows 441.454696655273. I changed the 441 to like 401.454696655273. When I went back to design the gearbox it drop the drag reduction to like .35 or something like that. So I just keep messing with each one till I felt like it was realistic. Went to Front wing and changed low/med/high downforce so it wouldn't be super high. It was showing them like .048 so had to drop it way lower than that. It didn't take me long to do all the part types to what i wanted. maybe an hour.

Just something if anyone is still playing it. Having a lot more fun with it now that it is harder. I also change the race difficulty to very hard (can only do that in DB as the game only shows hard).
