Opinion on savestates?

Emulators. When cheats aren't enough, or you want to play it fair without cheats,
would you consider savestate a form of cheating, or just a tool?

If you are "serious" when it comes to video games and love the challenge I would say not to use anything other than the vanilla game. If you just wanna have fun and tweak a couple things here or there, savestate and whatnot then I think is fine.

I don't use then when I am playing since I wanna beat a game legitimately, I only use savestates when I hacking a game.

Hacking a game is a challenge itself. You don't play the game, you play bytes
