None of the cheats here seem to be working for me. Currently using yuzu. Created cheat name folder in 010093801237C000 folder, created a cheats folder inside the cheat name folder and then a text document with the build name as the title and copy pasted the hex list with name into the text doc. I'm running off of the fitgirl repack so the file location is in D:/games/Metroid Dread/User/Load. Any help?

Does anyone know where the docs are for the opcodes used in all these cheats? e.g.

580F0000
580F1000
780F0000

I am guessing it's Load address value, add X to pointer, add X to value and things like that

Thanks

I will list the steps for Yuzu. Follow them exactly as I write them down.

Run Yuzu, right click on your Metroid Dread game, open mod folder.
Create a new folder there as the name "InfHealth" for example.
Open that InfHealth folder, create a new folder inside there, you have to call it "cheats", not something else!
Open that cheats folder and create a text file with this specific hexID "49161D9CCBC15DF9", so in the end, it looks like "49161D9CCBC15DF9.txt". This also has to be exactly written like this.
Open that text file. Paste in this opcode patch:

Code: Select all

[Invincibility]
040B0000 011F4ED8 F9400C13
040B0000 011F4EDC F9401A73
040B0000 011F4EE0 F9400A73
040B0000 011F4EE4 F9400273
040B0000 011F4EE8 D28C2A74
040B0000 011F4EEC F2AEADB4
040B0000 011F4EF0 F2C00E74
040B0000 011F4EF4 EB14027F
040B0000 011F4EF8 54000041
040B0000 011F4EFC 2D4A0008
040B0000 011F4F00 1E202008
040B0000 011F4F04 17FCA47E
040B0000 0111E0F8 14035B78
Save that file. You are done with the "cheats adding" section.
You can now freely deactivate/activate that cheat in Yuzu by right clicking onto Metroid Dread and choosing Properties. Usually, anything new you add into that mod-folder will be activated, even if its a flawed opcode patcher or something else which will crash or freeze your game. So be careful about adding untested stuff there.

This should help ... and it won't get easier than this adding emulator based patches for cheats and other manipulations of the game code.
Hi, I've tried your way as well as all the others here and this still does not work. All I see are the cheats with check marks, but do not work. Maybe step by step pictures would help everyone here only because we do your steps and still nothing is working unfortunately.

any idea if it is possible to have a cheat that equips you with
Spoiler
Metroid suit
outside of the final section of the game?

It isn't really that hard to accomplish adding cheats successfully.

Just a warning. Don't use those enemy speed decreaser scripts. They are high likely to brick your game. I had a room which I had to enter with the morphball + bomb augmentation, and leave it again on another road and was not able to do it anymore. I literally got stuck at the purple-ish block, where you lay down your bomb to boost that thing.
Yo. I fixed the issue. Anything at 75% or below breaks the ball launchers. But, I toyed with the value portion a bit and I found I think the lowest value it works at.

Code: Select all

[Slower Enemies]
04000000 00D6A368 1E2D3001
This is just slightly faster than 75% and doesn't break the launchers. I just beat the entire game with the code on with no lock ups.
However, you still can't effectively bomb jump to any great height due to bomb explosions being delayed and exploding slower than Samus is falling, so I had to use this following code sparingly, only when I had to bomb jump but couldn't. I only could get this code fully to work with Yuzu. Ryujjin just makes you float whenever you press B. Couldn't get it to work only for the combination.

Code: Select all

[ZL+B Float Up]
80000102
580F0000 729AC7C8
580F1000 00000000
580F1000 00000018
580F1000 000000D8
580F1000 00000018
580F1000 00000000
580F1000 00000120
780F0000 000001DC
640F0000 00000000 44A8B4DF
20000000
I also recommend anyone having trouble with the game to try the above Slower Enemies code first . This, for me at least, makes the game much more enjoyable, as reaction windows to enemy projectiles and counters are much more humane at these speeds. I recommend to anyone who is not very good at quickly reacting to things in games like me. Also it doesn't at all feel slow, at all. Everything is still very fluid.
Before going for Infinite health or whatever, do try to beat a boss you're stuck on with slower code first.
IMHO, I had much more fun second time through with this code. . Although there is this issue with bomb jumping, but like I said, you can use the Float Up code but you'd have to restrain yourself from breaking progression ^^

Anyway, enjoy!

Can you explain the name of the folders well and what must be contained in each of them to make the metroid dread cheats work in yuzu?
Thanks a lot, I'm a little confused by the above explanations.

You start the path with the Metroid Dread folder, but the paths shown on the previous pages were different.
How do you start from the Metroid Dread folder?
Can you explain better please?

When I load the game file, I go to the properties, then to add-ons, the name Inf Healths flegged appears as a patch and under version Cheats appears, but they are written not highlighted in bold, as if they were not active.

It has all been explained here multiple times, guys...
Modfolder can be easily opened by going through Yuzu. The folder structure has to be the same as shown (there are others like exefs, scripts and cheats, they do each other stuff, these here are obvious simple cheats/opcode patches, if you wanna have it a bit technically). The .txt file name results from the current version of the game. It won't have a known combination like 0.0.1-20211016 or 1.0 or whatever, as people know it from typical "v.1.0.0a patch" etc. it is a technical thing. Check the cheat pages about the current "v0" (initial ROM-rip release), if you have not any updates applied so far.

The rest of this thing is really selfexplanatory. Even with the clip I uploaded extra for this community somehow confuses the people. It cannot get easier than that, seriously.

Once again, this shouldn't confuse anyone what I am doing there. This is how you add cheats to your emulator. If you really want the details (again...) for some reason, yuzu has its own guide page about these things. Get comfy with Google-Searching.

Look, I'm sorry but I'm Italian and I don't speak English well. I didn't mean to piss anyone off. Unfortunately I explained that I have followed all the instructions but then he shows me the inserted cheats but unfortunately they are written in clear and not in bold so they do not work. I was trying to figure out what mistake I made.
Thanks anyway and sorry.
