I am asking because I have not picked it up yet.
Spacebase Startopia was a good reminder not to buy games just because their predecessors were good.
And so, I wonder how this game fares - I loved Evil Genius and I just don't want to be disappointed again with a bad sequel.
Cheers!
Having played it a few hours, there are some UI annoyances. Too many clicks to get to "side missions", the camera rotation is a bit iffy (might be some setting I need there), the holding cells only show occupation from certain angles. There are also some things that annoyed me, like can't multi-tag agents, but researching the right things does that automatically, so that was just me not knowing the mechanics yet. Also the "signal strength" seems to be a bit low, but again I suspect I am missing something obvious. It can't be that you need 100 stations to get your criminal networks up to max level. Still a few things I need to figure out here and there I imagine.
There are also some bad choices. The voice lines for the Geniuses are all the same, which is somewhat disappointing as they should have been unique.
That said, I am having a lot of fun. They made some right choices with having it in one island, but multiple floors. I also suspect that most of my "this is wrong/this can't be right" utterances are me doing things in a non-ideal way, and I think it is a good successor to a childhood memory (there could be some "rose tinted glasses" effect in my opinion though)
