You'd have to give more information, at least the name of the game. Ammo is typically stored as 4 bytes and some games count the ammo as how many shots you have taken.

For example:

You have 16 bullets in your clip and have shot none then you'd need to search 0, shoot one bullet and search 1 in the next scan, etc.
