I haven't encounter any health bar in this game. Also, flaps is only limited to 2 max as far I have tested. Have tried making to infinite but will still remain limited to 2. (I provided a script to let you see for yourself). You can delete it later.

You have to get to the first boss to see, that Hunter actually has health, i think it's float 'cause it's like in shooters. try to find, if have time.

Don't think I have the time to play through the game but if you can provide me a save game file, that would help. If possible, give me a save just before the first boss.
