Metal Gear Solid (GOG) v1.0

Post by Denezhou »

the boss cheats do mention the names of the boss, a bit of a spoiler if you've never played, the header "should" be hidden by default though

Current to do list (don't know how to look for or do these yet)
Main Game:
Radar Not Jammed When Spotted
one hit kill
all weapons and all items as combined codes
boss 2 - only need to use 1 attack to kill? i couldn't find the code
-anything else that might be useful?
VR Missions:
Always Have Radar in VR missions (if similar to main games radar code for hard/extreme i may or may not be able to find this address)
-anything else useful? haven't went to vr games yet

all this was done on normal if it makes a difference
first cheat table i've made other than helping on the diablo 1 gog cheat table. :) learning

-----Main Game v12-----
All Items + Weapons (+Inf Ammo using freeze)
Infinite Health [can die from being 1 shot]
Change Max Hp [if you set this to like 3382 for torture scene you won't lose]
Infinite Oxygen
No reload
Boss Battle - Boss Health, NPC Captives At Bosses Health, & Timers for all but second boss (tank)
end game timer
Radar Access In Hard/Extreme Mode (use value 5 through 7) (provided by XebroLeazier)
Never Need Diazepam
Diazepam timer (kinda useless with above but i found it)
chaff grenade timer
Current Enemy Status (0=Clear, 1=Jamming, 2=Evasion, 3=Alert)
DockA (first location)- Elevator Timer [change to 0 for it to go down]
Current Difficulty [visual only] - don't change this! (255=Very Easy, 0=Easy, 1=Normal, 2=Hard, 3=Extreme)
more info
i used a very easy save at escape route (final area of game), i changed it from 255 to 3, resaved/reloaded and it kept the 3 but i still only received hound rank, it might help with ng+? idk
-Game Completion Status - get tuxedo without beating game twice
instructions
  • 1. not ended game yet (value=0)
    2. good ending and get the bandana your ng+ save is yellow in the save menu (value=1)
    3. bad ending and you get stealth, your ng+ is red (value=2)
    4. if you have completed both it is red and you get the tuxedo suit after heading up the elevator in the dock. (value=3)
after you change value & get to the next zone and save and reload your game will reflect the change. if you used value 3 you will now have the tuxedo. it won't give you the stealth/bandana, just makes it think you have completed the game to have them. (can item cheat them in)
-i added the rest of the "item" codes even though they aren't needed and put them in order of how they are in addresses, sorted weapons by addresses also

-----end game stat help for ranks-----
rations used
saves used
continues used
alerts used
kills used
time played
deaths counter (goes hand in hand with continues used i guess - the game tracks deaths but the results screen doesn't show them, this may be useless info but kept nevertheless)

-----VR Game V2-----
current health (lock for infinite)
max health
weapon codes (get all weapons or lock ammo qty for infinite]
infinite time
no reload
Diazepam count
Diazepam always in use
Score (provided by XebroLeazier )
Stealth (provided by XebroLeazier )

Code: Select all

:v2: i added id card
:v3: i added pal card

:v4: added:
max hp (increase your health pool)
infinite hp (can still die if you get 1 shot, increase max hp)
infinite oxygen
no reload
---------end game stat help for ranks:
rations used
saves used
continues used
alerts used
kills used
deaths counter

v5
Boss Battle - Ocelot's Ammo Count [Set to 0 and freeze for him not to be able to shoot]

v6:
-Fixed (or address moves around, reloaded game a couple times and it stayed true): Boss Battle - Ocelot's Ammo Count [Set to 0 and freeze for him not to be able to shoot]
-boss health: ocelot (change to 1 for 1 hit kill)
-Radar Access In Hard/Extreme Mode (use value 5 through 7) (provided by XebroLeazier)
Hours timer (provided by XebroLeazier)

v7:
i learned how to do pointers from the CT tutorial. :)
Hours timer (provided by XebroLeazier) wasn't editable, removed
time played address found
fixed "saves used", first address selected was only a temporary change
bosses-found pointers for all bosses except the 2nd one (tank) for boss health, npcs healths, timers, etc
end game timer

v8:
added: Never Need Diazepam (always active if lock value to 4)

v9:
-fixed - Radar Access In Hard/Extreme Mode (changed to 1 byte)
-added: Diazepam Timer (not really needed with Never Need Diazepam but i found it so added)

-Game Completion Status - get tuxedo without beating game twice
-"good" ending and get the bandana your ng+ save is yellow in the save menu (value=1)
"bad" ending and you get stealth, your ng+ is red (value=2)
-if you have completed both it is red and you get the tuxedo suit after heading up the elevator in the dock. (value=3)
after you get to the next zone and save and reload your game will reflect the change. if you use value 3 you will now have the tuxedo. it won't give you the stealth/bandana, just makes it think you have completed the game to have them. (can item cheat them in)
-i added the rest of the "item" codes even though they aren't needed and put them in order of how they are in addresses, sorted weapons by addresses also

v11:
Current Enemy Status (0=Clear, 1=Jamming, 2=Evasion, 3=Alert)
DockA (first location)- Elevator Timer [change to 0 to for it to go down]

v12:
fixed boss wolf 1 and wolf 2 health codes (address different based on your difficulty)

vr v2:
Score (provided by XebroLeazier )
Stealth (provided by XebroLeazier )

This is what I found for displaying map (value is 5-7)
Spoiler
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CheatTable>
<CheatEntries>
<CheatEntry>
<ID>60</ID>
<Description>"Display Map (Useful in Hard/Extreme Difficulty)"</Description>
<VariableType>2 Bytes</VariableType>
<Address>MGSI.exe+38E7e5</Address>
</CheatEntry>
</CheatEntries>
</CheatTable>
And I only managed to found the hour in game time:
Spoiler
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<CheatTable>
<CheatEntries>
<CheatEntry>
<ID>45</ID>
<Description>"Hour Count"</Description>
<VariableType>2 Bytes</VariableType>
<Address>MGSI.exe+38E896</Address>
</CheatEntry>
</CheatEntries>
</CheatTable>
I forget how I get them. Most likely from porting the gameshark code :D

cool thanks!

i haven't got around to the VR yet, do you have anything for infinite time or always show radar in vr?

i'd think those are about the only thing left this needs

v6 added
-fixed (or address moves around): Boss Battle - Ocelot's Ammo Count [Set to 0 and freeze for him not to be able to shoot]
-boss battle: ocelots health (change to 1 for 1 hit kill)

:edit:
i've noticed that bosses health addresses move around, so they probably won't work as-is, i learned how to do pointers, will probably update all bosses health in a few days

How about a general one-hit kills cheat?

one hit kill is above my knowledge, but i have the addresses for all bosses health (except boss 2) now in v7, change value to 1 after the battle starts and they will die in 1 hit

other than VR codes (haven't played vr yet) i can't think of anything else needed needed except maybe:
Radar Not Jammed When Spotted
one hit kill
all weapons and all items as combined codes

VR game codes that would be useful
Unlimited time (i can do this one when i get to VR)
Always Have Radar in VR missions (if similar to main games radar code i may or may not be able to find this address)

first cheat table i've made other than helping on the diablo gog cheat table. :) learning

Nice one!

For one-hit kill, you need to find the health address of any enemy. Then do 'find out what writes to this address'. You should get the instruction that decreases enemy health. You then need to modify that instruction so it sets their health to zero, or decreases their health by a massive amount.

i might try to learn that after i play mgs2 :)

anyone found any bugs with my v7? not sure what the benefits are to the thumbs ups but i figured i woulda got some for the table :?

save bug for Dock A (not related to my cheat table)

this occurs without any modifications or CT ever being opened

Dock A - this is first location in the game
Heliport A - second save location in the game

at the main menu screen only the Heliport A save is able to be opened, the Dock A save is blank (no words) slot and will reload back to the main menu if you try to open it.

if you open the Heliport A save instead, when you load a new save while you are in the Heliport save, you can then open the Dock A save, how's that make sense?

this is probably because in Dock A you can't use the codec to speak to the save person, even though this version doesn't require you to use codec to save but doesn't explain why you can then open it while you have another save open.

I need to inform you, after further testing, the display radar/map should be byte not 2 bytes; value still the same.
If it's 2 bytes, it affects snake costume. I have tux costume and if it's 2 byte and I change the value to 5 thru 7, the costume changed to default one.

fixed thanks! (and giving me a new code because of the bug)

i made a note on this, i found an address for the torture health but it doesn't do anything, didn't spend much more time on it since this works.
----Change Max Hp [if you set this to like 3382 for torture scene you won't lose]

v9:
-fixed - Radar Access In Hard/Extreme Mode (changed to 1 byte)
-added: Diazepam Timer (not really needed with Never Need Diazepam but i found it so added)

-Game Completion Status get tuxedo without beating game twice
