few suggestions :D

Post by malis2007 » Sat Apr 21, 2018 7:07 pm

1- make it so that every certain amount of likes(e.g. 10 received likes) gives you a rep

2- add a separate button for "like/dislike" that are available alongside the "reactions" button

reason? you can either like OR dislike, but can use limitless reactions :D

3- the like/dislike should be anonymous, but the reactions limitless and visible

4- make it so that once you bad rep, you pay a certain number of posts/topics from your status..

so that when you are empty, you can't bad rep until you contribute enough.

5- don't allow new users to give dislikes/bad reps, likes should be enough.

they are new after all.. and to prevent "smart" ppl from misusing it

6- knowing who liked you bring an indirect friendly connection with them and one might like them back later on

(at least, that is what i noticed in other forums XD)

so i guess that there won't be harm in knowing the likes

only the dislikes should be invisible

and once you dislike, you can't like (basic sense, so that they can't camouflage) :p

ah, i forgot something important :D

7- << widen that sidebar (the one that holds the avatar[enlarge the avatar while you are at it] and status)

edit: more to flow..

8- make ppl able to remove a negative rep by paying a certain amount of positive reps(e.g. 100 positive rep to remove 1 negative rep[just an example])

because it is like a dark stain on someone's profile that might bring depression on the long run for some ppl XD

9- make polls available in the sidebar among the "latest posts" "staff online"..etc so that ppl could react or even know about its existence in the first place :D

10- add a "latest tables" in the sidebar aswell among the "latest posts" "staff online"..etc because it is something to be proud of  (an achievement)

11- i guess that table creation should have a different counter in the status (not really sure tho)

12- could polls have more than 10 options?

A few suggestions:

1. Larger default font for the posts, please - my eyes are not getting better ;-)

2. Size the forums according to browser window (I have a 5cm bar on each sides in 1920*1200)

3. Less space between post and frames - I feel that tons of real estate is going to waste. I liked seeing more (on one screen) on phpbb.

4. Default search setting should be "this forum".

5. Improve how attachments are shown (especially when multiple attachments are present) - but I guess you already know about this.

Can I haz cheeseburger?

Thanksy thankster!

UI.X theme has 'Toggle width' feature which should match your request, I guess. :)

Unless, it is something that you would see in XF2 theme?

I think it's a browser (or OS) thing with Carbon theme; Chrome on widows I don't have the option ("Toggle width"), but Chrome on Linux/Ubuntu I do.

EDIT:

But I can say it looks great on a vertical monitor.

Here's one more feature request, if I may.

Back on CE forums, you could update attachments.

You know, replace them, without losing stats.

IMHO, this is useful in case tables are updated - their download stats don't revert to zero every time.

Thank you for considering!

It's in plans. Waiting for the attachment description mod to be finished before we work on that.

the Attachement display is just awful, if the table is not marked with some sort of revision number it is really hard to find the right one (also the comments for attachments are not shown)

Did you read any of the posts? This was addressed multiple times (in other topics) and in the post just before yours.

The dev is supposed to send the demo of mod today. Should be implemented either today or in a couple days depending on how it goes.
