just rename the gog exe to teh steam exe, and its fine, the game loads fine, the trainer works fine

Yeah, I tried to rename the 'FujiGOG.exe' to 'FujiSteam.exe' before you replied, but it didn't work, it's a shortcut, not the real exe file. Later, I realized the real exe file is in 'Every Day We Fight\Fuji\Binaries\Win64', just changed 'FujiGOG-Win64-Shipping.exe' to 'FujiSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe'. It's OK now.
