Looks like it's failing to allocate memory.
I'm getting the same thing, and that's with the .ct updated on 4/29.
Can either of you give an exact error message?

There's lots of reasons it could fail to allocate memory, but the only one I can think of that would be happening off the top of my head, with the way I wrote the code, is that FFVIII is being run as administrator and cheat engine is not, so windows won't let cheat engine allocate memory inside the FFVIII process. An exact error message might shed more light on the situation.

I downloaded the CT edit version 2.7 and it didn't work

I used the 7.1 cheat engine

I mark Final Fantasy 8 Remaster (Steam) [X] Ok, but on enable [] I click and nothing happens, when clicking with the right mouse button it appears in the first line <>

I'm just trying to unlock GFs, if possible only Siren

if anyone knows the code I appreciate
My table can't unlock GFs, it can only give you their cards and change their compatibility. I remember I once went looking for the GF structs to try and figure out how to do things like unlock them and edit their abilities, but gave up because it was too odd. Even sorting out their compatibility was hard enough.
Running as Admin may have been my issue. Also to anyone still struggling even after running as admin make sure to select the FFVIII.exe from the PROCESSES tab as opposed to the APPLICATIONS tab. I'd honestly tried to run the script last night having selected the .exe, but even then it didn't work then. Running as Admin seemed to have fixed that issue. I thought I had CE set to always run as admin but it may have gotten returned to default after an update and I never bothered to check it. Sorry about, and thanks for the table!

Edit: Typos everywhere. I am terribly sleep deprived.

How to use this cheat table?
  1. Install Cheat Engine
  2. Double-click the .CT file in order to open it.
  3. Click the PC icon in Cheat Engine in order to select the game process.
  4. Keep the list.
  5. Activate the trainer options by checking boxes or setting values from 0 to 1

Strangely enough, this is what fixed it for me. Might have something to do with the launcher having it's own .exe. Works fine now, tho. Thanks guys!

Been hunting high and low for a table that lets me disable experience gains or alter them to a point of zero gained. Fardriel's has the only table to have functionality for my game. With Fardriel's table I can alter the multiplier to 0 for normal and bonus experience but the third party member still gets gains. Any ideas on what I can do to disable experience gain completely, with this table or another?

The third party member still gets experience? How much? The bonus XP from killing blows should be the only other source of XP the game has, aside from normal monster XP, and both of those are covered in the table. Though I suppose there might be a bug where the bonus XP for the third member isn't multiplied.

EDIT: Oh, yep. Definitely a bug. I uploaded a new update in that post that fixes it.

With the update they did to this game awhile back, it looks like a total code rewrite. This game is coded a little weird anyway since it's based on PS1 I think. I spent some time by request to fix up a few things for the latest version of the game. I basically had to start from scratch. I have most Pointers working. You can give yourself cards and modify the quantity of all your items. I have Inf HP working, so it should be able to keep you from dying. The rest of the options will have to wait if at all. I kind of don't want to devote another 10 or more hours trying to get everything working again. I have some basic things working again and hope it's enough. You cannot die, so hopefully that helps. You can also select the character to edit manually and the Character Editor works.

I was also able to get the downgrade option working for myself, so if you really need the full table working, I have this option available.

Attached is a cheat table for the Steam.exe. This allows you to download the downgrade files from Steam.

So, make sure steam is open, run Cheat Engine and attach to Steam program. Load up this steam.CT and Enable it.

Hit Windows Key+R for the run dialog and enter the following:
steam://open/console

Next, enter the following command in the console of Steam:
download_depot 1026680 1026681 6690602264714227718

It should download the files.

Exit Steam.

Go to your Steam folder, content and look for the depot_1026681 folder and copy all those files over to your FF 8 Remaster Steam folder (you can right-click the game name and browse local files to get there quickly).

Now all I did was start Steam back up and load up FF 8 Remaster and it let me use these downgraded files and the old 5.1 table worked perfectly.

I got all these steps from the guide on how to do it. I only made the steam.CT file based on that information from the comments.

Here is the guide if you want to look it over:

I've update some cheat on the 6.0 table.

Changelog Table 6.5:
Spoiler
Script Update:
- One Hit Kill/Enemy Damage Multiplier (Note1)
- ATB Multiplier for Allies and Enemies
- EXP Multiplier (Note2)
- Inf Magic Use (In-Battle, Out of Battle)
- Inf Item Use (In-Battle, Out of Battle)
- AP Multiplier (Note3)

Pointers Update:
- Highlighted Item
- Highlighted Magic

Script Added:
- Inf Item/Magic Refine
- Inf Card Mod

ToDo:
- Draw Multiplier
- Max Boost (Summon)
- Always Able to Limit Break Highest Level
- Save Anywhere
- Unlock All GF (View GF Menu)

Note1: Now when the enemy hit, the player HP goes down normally if "Inf HP in Battle" it's deactivated
Note2: Added some code to see the correct value of the EXP gained. Added a limit to 100.000 EXP gained.
Note3: Added some code to see the correct value of the AP gained. Added a limit to 250 AP gained.
Changelog Table 6.9:
Spoiler
Script Update:
- Max Boost (Summon) (Note1)
- Save Anywhere
- Unlock All GF (View GF Menu)

Pointers Update:
- Highlighted Character (Note2)

Pointers Added:
- RNG Value (Note3)
- Battle Won (Thanks to fardriel)
- Battle Escaped (Thanks to fardriel)

ToDo:
- Draw Multiplier
- Always Able to Limit Break Highest Level

Note1: Press button one time to max Boost value.
Note2: No more "Select Character". Just go on Junction or Status Menu and all values are auto-compiled. Added "Enemies Killed" and "Character KOs" (Thanks to fardriel).
Note3: I don't know if it's useless or not. FFVIII is famous for his "RNG manipulation". Maybe it can be useful for who want to study that aspect of the game.
Changelog Table 6.9.1:
Spoiler
Script Update:
- One Hit Kill
- Enemy Damage Multiplier

I decided to split these two cheats because I realized there were some issues with using the "Card" and "Devour" skills.
With the new "One Hit Kill" cheat the enemies start the battle with 1 HP so it will be easier to kill them, turn them into cards or devour them. "One Hit Kill" cheat works only if activated before battles and not during them.
Changelog Table 6.9.2:
Spoiler
Script Update:
- Enemy Damage Multiplier

Update the code so the value of damage dealt is shown correctly at screen. Something similar I've already do with the cheats "EXP Multiplier" and "AP Multiplier".
Changelog Table 6.9.3:
Spoiler
Update the code so the value of damage dealt is multiplied only for players
Changelog Table 6.10:
Spoiler
Updated some code that was broke due the Steam/Square update that solve the frame-drop issue.
Improved the "Highlighted Item" pointer! Now it's possible to add new items instead modify existing ones. In game, move the cursor in a blank slot then in the table in "Item ID" select the item desired instead "Nothing" and in "Item Qty" how much you want.
I've added some pointers but only for fun and research curiosity on how works the Limit "Angelo Search".
All cheats in RED are still broken.
Changelog Table 6.12:
Spoiler
Updated some code that was broke due the Steam/Square update 1.0.3.
Fixed Inf. Items Use. Thanks omg2121
Now (I hope!) there will be no need to update the table when next game update will pop out.
All cheats in RED are still broken.
Have Fun!

I've updated a little more the table. Can be found HERE.

There's more to do like update two script and add other cheat like:
- Instant Summon GF
- GF EXP Multiplier
- GF Ability Mod
- Free Buy at Shop/Junkshop

I think that I'm done. Maybe someone else want to update/add cheat at this table.
CYA at the next FFVIII Steam update :D

Thanks for your hard work on this so far!
When you use the 'Card' skill on some normal monsters, there's a 16/256 chance (1/16 simplified) of getting a boss card.
Is it somehow possible to modify that chance to something like 128/256?

Are there any tables out there for getting the maximum magic/items all at once?

Is it possible that this can work on the Windows Store edition as it's on gamepass?
