I always wanted codes to change who is actually in the party. With the most current table here you can change your character's to look like other characters but the same actor ID is still underneath. Example I changed Miram to look like Red Mage. It works fine but its not the true Red Mage.
So I did an experiment and in the game had Sif join my party as member number 5.
In cheat engine I did a "First Scan" for her character id value (7). I then kicked her out of the party and had the Minstrel, id value (18) join in place of where Sif was in slot 5.
After that I did a "Second Scan" for value (18) and got only a small amount of results
I tried them out and one them changed to the character I specified (in this case Scheile).
I saved the address thinking this would always be the same code but it seems to change each time the game is re-loaded.
at any rate this process is still pretty easy to execute. After doing this, the game still thinks whatever character you
overwrote is still in the party. (however, if the party member was the Minstrel you can enter another pub and it will act like he left the party.
If you overwrote someone else the game will think they are a party member, for example i overwrote Albert but was able to enter
the crystal palace because the game said he was still there.
I also kicked Scheile out and she reappears in the pubs and can re-join or you can use her for early access to sorcery.
This works for Darque or Aldora (probably anyone else too) even on a first playthrough.
Anyway sorry for the longwinded sloppy post but maybe it will be useful to someone. (and if there is a solid party slot change code I'd still like to find it )
