Dark Souls series - Is there a consensus about what's bannable?

Hello everyone! I just bought Dark Souls II and III and I do not want to get softbanned for cheating.
I would like however to use fearlessrevolution's trainer and the "no loss" cheat, to avoid losing souls after death.

Will this get me soft-banned?
Can I play using any kind of code online? Does From detect it?

I have been reading a lot of reports about it, mostly from 2016, but I can't understand if it is safe or not to cheat in Dark Souls. I have read a lot of reports saying that using things such as inf HP and inf Stamina is fine, but also read few reports saying that they were banned for using just that while offline and then going online later.

So, is there a Wiki where we have a collection about which games are safe to cheat and the in-betweens of each?
Is there a consensus nowadays about Dark Souls, or it still is a russian roulette??

No wiki to my knowledge, but this is always what I say to people who ask this: If you cheat and play online you could and probably will be banned. If you don't want to take that risk, play offline. The scripts and tables provided on here are for offline play, so if you use them outside of those parameters its entirely on you.

I see... have you played Dark Souls using a trainer or a table? If so, would you know the answer to the following question:

If I create character "A" and play with it only offline, and create character "B" just to play it online. If I cheat with character "A", close the game, close the trainer / table, turn the game on again, go online, and open character "B", will the game detect that I cheated with "A"?

Basically... the game detects the character "A" save-file even if I do not load it?

And another question: if I play offline, and cheat, is it ever safe to go online? Is there a consenus about what get you banned and what will not?

I do not want to screw anyone playing online. I'd like to use some stuff online, cause I like the messages and ghosts interactions, but I have no intention on using cheats that will spoil other players. Actually I do not intend even to use things such as inf. HP or Souls, cause I like the challenge the game provides. I basically just dont like the soul loss, and would cheat otherwise just to avoid some kind of frustration if it ever happens.

I have, and I've safely played online with another character. To answer the question of is it safe to ever play a cheated character online: No. You've tampered with your save and the game/servers do not like that. Once you cheat, that character should immediately be blacklisted in your eyes. In terms of what cheats you'd actually use, From Software doesn't really care what your intentions are when it comes to cheating. Just because you have no intentions of ruining someone else's experience, doesn't make you any different in their eyes than the people who are malicious.

Bottom line being: If you want to play online, don't cheat, and if you are going to cheat use non-cheat engine cheating methods like this:

Thanks! I will probably just create a backup of my save, play it offline, and if I ever want to play it online, I replace my save file with the backup and connect it to the internet. I guess that would be 100% safe, am I right?

hmmm

people like to invent truths...

My man, I have done almost everything mounting new builds in DSR which has similar online feaures of DS3. Swap items was the start, but I really was in awe when I was changing everything about my online pvp characters. Name, weapon memory level for matchmaking...

today I got angry because I simply couldn't find the host in one invasion for 10 minutes. what did I do? Started to go through the cheat table options to see their ID, character stats and tried to edit ALL their stats. managed to drop their HP, change the camera to his toon... and killed him without even getting near that chicken player.
What happened next?
-NOTHING

FromSoft doesn't care anymore. I was too afraid making bakups to my game saves for nothing. So strange I don't get no warning message. Can still find MANY noob players online, so I take a guess that I have not even got a softban.

what you say about that?
