Here is a tool I made that will fix the Checksum for your profile.sav and save_#.sav files. Just open your file into the tool and press the Fix Checksum button.

NOTE: THIS DOES NOT FIX THE BYTE COUNT, SO IF YOU ADDED/REMOVED BYTES FROM THE SAVE THIS WILL NOT FIX YOUR SAVE

SAVE LOCATION: C:\Users\<USERAME>\AppData\Local\Remnant\Saved\SaveGames\

Automated bots scrape the content then freak out because their crappy antivirus thinks the file is dangerous and slap a malware warning to the site. Users then complain the site is hacked or disturbing malware because some bot thinks trainers are dangerous.

Passwording archives is common practise these days ,stops certain types of scanning.

I know this post is old but will this fix the issues of the game saying that is detecting a potential cheat when joining someone lobby?

Hello! Can you please teach me how you use this for this purpose of changing character's looks?
I only see a ''Fix Checksum'' button and it doesn't seem I can't do anything else with the file. Should I be able to?

I'd like to use this tool to fix the checksum after editing my character's appearance. However, when examining profile.sav I don't see the headtype, voice, haircolortype, etc for all my characters. Only one value is displayed. How do I find these values for all my characters?

Actually, there are multiple entries, but I can't seem to find ALL the entries. I was able to find the right ones for the character I was attempting to edit, but I think I got lucky. If anyone knows a reliable way to spot which SkinColortype, HeadType, etc belongs to which character slot that'd be great.

You need to use NotePad++ to open the save file ("profile.sav") for your profile -- it's in "C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Remnant\Saved\SaveGames", then change the numerical value/s next to the customisation options (example: "voice", "hair") to whatever number you want to change your character's appearance to (the number correspond to the in-game customisation choices, "0" being the first choice / colour / style / whatever; "1", the second option, and so on).

Once you've changed whichever customisation parts you like, save the modded save file (make a back-up of it beforehand, just in case and error occurs while editing), and then use the "Checksum Fixer" tool to find that modified file, and fix its checksum -- so it actually works in-game.
