[REQUEST:Mass Effect 1 / 3] Asari Consort's Trinket

i heard that acquiring the trinket in mass effect 1 triggers an event on mass effect 3.
i did the quest in the right order, but i never got the trinket - apparently a pretty common bug. or perhaps i -didn't- do it the right way, so i was wondering... is there any way to trigger the flag AFTER the quest is over? maybe a console command? or through the cheat engine, perhaps?
i'm nearly finished with the first game, almost moving onto the second one. so i'd REALLY hate to start the game all over again just for the one trinket...
