Sounds like your antivirus is interfering with the app. Please whitelist the app in your antivirus.

No, deactivate the antivirus, but the application is still closed, but it only closes when starting the game and having the Battletoads cheats chosen, if I have selected any other game or it is on the main screen it does not close ... Or if I have the game running, and then I open the app and choose battletoads, it closes.
I only have windows defender as "antivirus" but all options disabled.

Strange, the way you're describing it makes it seem like there's an anti-cheat. I haven't had any problems myself using it. Can you record a video of exactly what happens to get a better understanding? Also, add the app and game to your antivirus whitelist anyway, even if it's disabled.

First I show how the app folder is added, and also the two executables.
In the first part I show how opening the game first and then the app closes when choosing battletoads.
In the second, first I open the app to show that it is not a problem of the app that closes itself, and after opening the game the app closes
