Re: [Request] Shadows over Loathing
While not technically a cheat engine modification; I CAN teach you how to edit your player saves. Word of warning; please exit the game or at least be on the MAIN MENU while editing as autosaving is quite constant.
First and foremost; save data is under "C:\Users\"User"\AppData\LocalLow\Asymmetric Games, LLC\Shadows Over Loathing" for Windows. I am unsure of where Macintosh & Linux saves go. But open up your player's save in Notepad or other writing application to begin.
* XP save data is under this line "xp": "#", . Change the # to whatever number you want. It should be under Diner Bus and the tricks I am providing do require you play for a few minutes to get to the tutorial.
* Meat save data is under this line. "meat": "#", . Change the # to the amount you wish to have. Same requirement as above.
* Item Editing can provide your additional HP as well as a slew of other bonuses I will list below. Please acquire an item with a permanent buff such as Moxie, Muscle, or Mysticality or some other form. Look for the item in the save file and go under "enchantments": { .
The following enchantment lines can be added and in bold I will list their effects. If you copy paste, remove the bold text and include 10 spaces beforehand. (Each new line)
* You can also edit weapon abilities and types; but I recommend you stray from that too much as it can cause game crashes.

Re: [Request] Shadows over Loathing
I found another enchantment, ("maxcombatitems": "1",) increases amount of combat items that can be used in one turn
Re: [Request] Shadows over Loathing
Honestly I recommend playing this without cheats. I've played their first game and it was a blast. Just go with the flow and enjoy what the game throws at you.
Re: [Request] Shadows over Loathing
yes, thats definitely what I come to this forum for, to be told not to cheat.

Any of yall know how to change kill values? Locked out of a choice because I killed a single fishman, wondering if there's a way to edit out that kill.

Huh, wish there was one for vampires as well. Got this weird vamp in The Big Moist that has a dialogue option for directions that is greyed out. I assume I got locked out for killing too many vampires.

Re: [Request] Shadows over Loathing
Does anybody know if it's possible to give yourself a hat? Specifically, the "leather aviator helmet". [Link]
I found where hats are in the code (using the "fine china helmet"), but...well, what happened to others has happened to me: Random encounter, thought I could use 6 Moxie to do a "trade", but didn't expect it to be instantaneous and permanent. Others said perhaps it was a punishment, but for me and a few others...it was punishment for curiosity.
It might seem like a silly thing to get so wound up over, but I would really be indebted if there was a way to get it back (instead of repeating a solid 40 hours of gameplay)
