i want to freeze the timer in hack gu last recode volume 2. there is a bike race in which i have to catch goblins
i followed and i found the value in cheat engine which decreases as the timer in the game decreases
if i pause the game and i change the value in cheat engine then the timer changes in the game but when i unpause the game the old timer comes back and the new value that i put is ignored. if i freeze the value in cheat engine then there are two timers in the game on top of each other: one timer is the frozen value and the other one is counting down
what is going on? why am i unable to modify the timer value and make it count down from the modified value instead of the from the real value? i can change other values in the game like money value

It can be multiple things. Not all games work the same exact way, no game is exactly the same, so a tutorial may not always work for every single game.
1. That's not the real value and you got the visual one.
2. If when you freeze the value another timer appears, then there might be a function that when the time is inconsistent or wrong, makes another instance of it.
3. It's an online game and the time works differently by checking other addresses.
4. If indeed the game is online, then the timer might not have an internal clock.

it is an offline game. you are right. it seems that i found the display value and not the real value
how do i find the real value? the timer is in this formatting: mm:ss.ms. i convert the time to ms and i look for that value?
