Timey Wimey Problems with Steamworld Dig 2

Can Somebody tell me how to freeze or reverse the clock on SWD2? I've tried everything I can think of (which isn't much) including doing an unknown initial scan of EVERY type of vale followed by increases in the value, and then adjusting groups of values that seem to belong together. The most I get is a crash. Grr. Grrr I say!
