If you want to modify the Grade/Stock/Amount of a shard, you can do so, but the game only recalculates if an event causes the amount of shards to change. Examples of such events would be acquiring a shard or selling it, and the game is programmed well enough that even if you were to have more shards than the cap, it won't crash of glitch.

So all you gotta do for most shards is set the value to 10 and sell 1 in the shop, boom, instant Grade 9 with proper calculation.

Some shards cannot be sold, so unfortunately there is nothing to be done about these unless someone manages to create a script to modify which shard we obtain when killing a monster or can trip the trigger that makes the game recalculate. That is the case with most shards obtained from beating bosses, however if you must have a grade 9 version of it, you can get another in NG+. So you'll have to set it to 8 and play again.

There is one exception to the natural rule of Grade 9 and that is Shortcut, that is the only white shard with an actual grade, but you can set it to OFF then adjust the grade to 7 and turn it to ON in order to immediately unlock all shortcuts.

One other thing you might want to watch out for is passive/yellow shards, when they go up to Rank 9 they turn into skills, which means you can benefit from them without even equipping them, however should you still equip the yellow version of the shard, you will benefit from double the effect, at least in the case of stat shards, some of them do not stack however.

Yup, found this out the hard way, heh. The game needs an internal 'refresh' of some sort. I wound up setting everything to 10 and then selling 1 of each to Dominique.

Miriam really truly becomes BROKEN OVERPOWERED once all the Passive shards are mastered. Clearly it was never intended to be easily reached as this game w/o any cheats is Dawn of Sorrow tier grinding to 100% all.

Haha, I had completely forgotten the sell shard feature was even there. This does indeed make it a lot easier/faster. :D

Any chance you can explain why the stat changes aren't permanent and reset every time you start-up and load the game anew? Is there a way to make the changes permanent?

I know with save editing you can do exactly that, but sadly no one ever wants to make save editors for PC, just trainers. ¯\_(?)_/¯

just as Aria of Sorrow needs you to equip a certain accessory to prevent the bad end

unless you want to 100% your shard collection from the get go then its nigh impossible as you need to beat the game first and borrow the Tome of Conquest from Dracula who is probably not Alucard and certainly not DIO and beat him in the glacial cave to get his ZA WARUDO shard

Anyone figured out an exp multiplier that only works on familiars? I know there are exp multipliers out there but I don't really want to level up to max level.

Hmm..so how do we get max grade for boss shards? Like the Thrashing Tentacle from the first boss. You can't set it to 10 sell it and it doesn't seem to drop anywhere else so you can't set to 8 and get another. So is there no way to get a grade up legitimately or with the table?

NG+ seems to be the only way at the moment.

Stats is pre-calculated when loading save , so , it's not in the save. If you want to have high stat permanently you can try max out your level, maxed out shard that increase stat, equip item that increase stat and if you want more, you can edit the game file...

has anyone been able to find what the last sword and head gear are supposed to be called? cant find them ingame anywhere

I don't think that works. I'm pretty sure its been confirmed that you have to trigger a "get" event for it to update properly. You can change the visual number, but it won't get any stronger unless you legitimately change the number ingame. Such as by selling or gaining one for real.

Also, Familiar level is its own thing. They have a Grade/Rank/Level. Its a different stat.

Also, i did some test with 999 luck and turn out it didn't affect critical hit rate like it did with symphony of the night, so edit luck to 999 to get max drop rate and the game still fine ! (Recommended playing the game with 999 luck with nightmare level 1, the game is awesome :D)
I know that, but i want to change the difficulty of my actual playthrough without starting again! The normal difficulty it's too easy!
