You have to click done, and actually spend the points. I started with 2, spent 1, clicked done, went back into the menu and searched for 1, did it again, looked for 0, and got the value I needed, and just made it 99 and was able to focus everything with leftover.

Straight number. You get points, search for them, use them, search for them again. You have to confirm the change before the value will update, but it can be done with 2 points. You'll have like 9 values or so. One of them will be the correct one. After applying the points it seems to have reverted...

Found Focus points, 8 byte simple value.

Anybody have any luck finding Focus and Attribute points?
