If you froze the research bonus pools at a sufficient high level and then activated reci's research cheat you would end up in a pick a tech - research a tech loop next month as long as the frozen value was higher than the tech you picked. I have the v1.0.14 GOG version, and the old table does work... well at most cases. When you check a checkbox at script it looks like it freezes the CT, but it dosen't stop the script.
