Both investments and city building can be achieved by a simple edit in the files, decreasing the duration to the number of days you want it. Let me guess - the crash happens whenever you have (mounted) general participating in a battle with god mode activated, right? Dismount the general, it will solve the problem.

Similar issues as caorom. It works fine for baseline game, but when running FOTS, the only thing that consistently work is altering general's experience and skillpoints. One-turn scripts work or not, with no apparent rhyme or reason behind it, while unlimited movement, god mode and anything related ...

How about you download it and try out? I mean sounds like such an obvious solution to me...

The scripts are adjusted to work despite updates happening. If they don't, there is probably console command (and not affecting AI) for that anyway.
