I edited my weapon in the Box. Safed the Game. Reloaded and the weapon was still edited. I equipped the weapon, talked to some NPC and then the game crashed and set the weapon back to its default.

No just you. But you affect the others. So, yea kind of.

is Infinite Item use still broken?
