I just looked at his table. The inventory editor doesn't have anything special added to it, but he does include a patch for GFWL. I wasn't aware that GFWL was still being used. Since I don't use Steam, I don't have to deal with any of the protection measures, usually.

I'll take a look later when I have time.

EDIT:
Try enabling one of the scripts from the table below once you are in the game. If one of them enables, add the script to your table, save it and use it. It should stop the crashing.

Unfortunately, I cannot test this myself since my version is patched.
