Any BBCode indent?

Post by TimFun13 »

Does anyone have a good way to just indent with BBCode, list works but the spacing and bulletin point are off putting to me. An HTML non-breakable space doesn't work, can't use HTML. The best I could come up with was background colored text, but any style changes would suck and CSS modding browser extensions would be a issue.

HTML should have never been allowed, it's a huge security as you must know.

I am pretty sure this can be done through bbcode. You can make bbcode replacements for almost every html tag. I'll do it once i get a breather from porting tables.

Preformatted Text is what you looking for, is currently not working on this Forum though.

Code: Select all

[pre] Indented Text[/pre]
STN can add it through the Custom BBCodes section, [Link]

You might want to use ABBC3 : [Link] & [Link]
so that @ShyTwig16 can use "Preformatted text" ie "[pre][/pre]" BBCode, & use space to indent.
BTW it's also stable.

Just Helping,
Best regards :+1:

Added. Not entirely sure if this is what you wanted.

That works if I add spaces, but I feel it should just be "pre", since it converts to a PRE tag. "indent" seems like it should just set a margin or padding of a SPAN element to fake the indent and allow nesting of the tags inside lists and what not; at least it seemed to work that way with XF2.

I'd have to add the spaces any way, and with Sublime Text it goes pretty quickly either way.

Sweet, so now no padding characters needed.

  • test test indent 1 test indent 2 test indent 3
And it can be nested inside lists.
