I got message when uploading png image that image type is not supported.

You can't, have to use [URL]http://imgur.com/[/URL] or the like and embed the image into the post.

Upload the image to imgur/tinypic etc, copy the link and paste it in the editor.

It does. Make sure the imgur link has the image extension at the end and not the folder.
