Is it possible to make the thread status to be unread (and moved to top of the thread list) when the first post is updated?
It's useful for when the author post updated table but doesn't make any reply to that thread.

With an extension, it is possible, but Admin would need to decide whether or not to implement that.

It is good practice for authors to post a reply, notifying others of updates, however. You can always kindly ask them to do that -- maybe they will oblige you.
