Trying to add some boss passives and for some reason if I add this in boost or passive it doesn’t work - thanks

Lol strange I even tried using SE and it won’t let me add this buff to any character. Does it possibly need a flag? Thanks for anyone that can figure this one out it’s definitely unusual since it’s normally very easy to add passives

Anyone find way to add tadpoles to Hirelings yet? Would really appreciate if it was possible.
you can use Item Spawner(can find in ct table) add Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen to your player.
the id of Mind Flayer Parasite Specimen is c8f4a71f-d190-4cf1-889d-0dfe3c03cbc3.
Sorry, maybe my question wasn’t clear. I can’t unlock mindflayer powers on hirelings even when I have free tadpoles. Their screen always says hesitating without a dialogue choice to convince them to take it.

I’m looking for some kind of of flag or passive that removes the “hesitating” from the level up screen. Thanks for your reply though.
UPDATE:
There is a console command:
SetTadpoleTreeState(GetHostCharacter(), 2)

That works for unlocking illithid powers for hirelings.

But for some reason it does not work on Jaheira (and I assume Minsc and Halsin). The Tadpole tree no longer says 'not available' however I still can't spend tadpoles for powers. I have tried removing the "TADPOLE_POWERS_BLOCKED" tag and adding the partial ceramorphosis tag, however still can't spend tadpoles (even though Jaheira does say partial illithid on her powers page).

If anyone has an idea on a way to add tadpole powers to Jaheira, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

So I'm still trying to play around with getting tadpole powers on Jaheira.

Using:

SetTadpoleTreeState(GetHostCharacter(), 2)

As a console changes the tadpole tree to appear normally, without the 'not available' and for hirelings this allows them to invest tadpoles into powers. For Jaheira for some reason though, even though the tree appears the same, tadpoles cannot be invested. So there is some block still in place.

That suggests to me that either I have unsuccessfully removed the tag "TADPOLE_POWERS_BLOCKED" or there is some other line of code blocking the investment of tadpoles.

It may be worth noting that both hirelings and Jaheira will refuse to consume the astral tadpole, even after that code is execute. So even though a hireling would have access to the base powers, they cannot use the higher level powers because they will not consume the astral tadpole, even though the code is supposed to make them not hesitant. However I assume this refers to early game hesitation and not hesitation to the astral tadpole.

Anyways, I used this code to try to remove the "TADPOLE_POWERS_BLOCKED" tag, but maybe I am doing this wrong:

Code: Select all

{$lua}
if syntaxcheck then return end

[ENABLE]
ClearTagOnPlayer("dbbb5a43-a45f-4d6e-b6dd-eba372e8f294")
[DISABLE]
This format worked for clearing the "branded" tag however, I used this code to add the partial illithid tag:

Code: Select all

{$lua}
if syntaxcheck then return end
[ENABLE]
SetTagOnPlayer("c0cd4ed8-11d1-4fb1-ae3a-3a14e41267c8")
[DISABLE]
and this code to try to remove it:

Code: Select all

{$lua}
if syntaxcheck then return end
[ENABLE]
ClearTagOnPlayer("c0cd4ed8-11d1-4fb1-ae3a-3a14e41267c8")
[DISABLE]
And Jaheira is still a partial illithid according to the tadpole tree. So I am noticing some inconsistency in how this code is being applied.

Could someone perhaps suggest a more definitive code for trying to remove the tadpole powers block or potentially point me in the direction of another potential code that could be blocking Jaheira from being able to use tadpoles to get illithid powers?

Sorry I know this is a pretty esoteric use case. I just really want Jaheira to be able to take advantage of Cull the Weak.

Thanks for any help.

Need some help figuring out how to manually change a boss's hit points.
For context, I got myself stuck in an unwinnable boss fight (Apostle of Myrkul) on a single save playthrough and I want to resume the campaign. I need to defeat this boss in any way possible. I run Linux so I am not using CE, but something that works in a similar fashion - this means though that I cannot use the cheat table or any scripts.

I managed to find the address where the Boss's HP is stored as a float. Changing the value reflects on the UI, however when he gets hit or heals the HP goes back to its original value. This is the same for my characters' HP, so I'm thinking the actual health is stored as a different data type or in a different data structure. Problem is I have no idea where.

I can see what writes to the aforementioned float but no idea how to read assembly code or what to do with this information. Any idea how HP works in BG3 / how it can be changed in Cheat Engine? Maybe I can replicate this.
If you have other ideas other than changing HP about how I can skip / cheese this fight these are welcome as well, i.e. by improving my own characters rather than changing the boss. But they all need to be done manually without any scripts.

I stumbled on something similar which may help you to get to apply a TAG on Laezel to get her to communicate. Certainly worth a try... Have a look at this post from Noway3 , it may well be helpful viewtopic.php?t=13996&start=6510

Hasn't been working on my end either.

Not entirely sure how the AOB for the ActivateTrade function was found as I've mostly only dabbled in finding AOBs via it accessing a value in memory, which in this case I've found 100+ results for a vendor's UUID when doing a string search. The string it's referencing may very well be a value in RAM that's swiftly getting overwritten after the time of the function call and well after my scan, so I haven't really attempted to try to brute force through all the results for a hit. I figured since it hasn't been brought up in the last 100 or so pages on this thread, no one else was running into the issue and it might have just been the table I downloaded down, so I haven't attempted to fix it beyond that.

Thus far my short-term workaround has been to set up the script to instead let me input in the vendor's UUID which I grab off of the unpacked gustav dev files and have the script call the console commands with that instead. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a cumbersome experience without a proper mapping of the vendor to their UUID.
In further examination of this, I think I figured out how to fix Last Trade Vendor's AOB. After downgrading my version of BG3 to when the script last worked to try to reverse engineer how the function was originally found, I ended up actually looking through Zanzer's script for loading console commands and it made me realize I could just follow the function of ActivateTrade to its function in memory via the address he loads in the register symbol. Sure enough I realized only then (or perhaps it's some strange remnant of the many times I was running through trying to dissect the code) that it also just straight up puts a reference to ActivateTrade for Goto Address.

I think that this should have enough wildcards in its AOB to work, I only tested this against one merchant with a few restarts with the sleep deprivation that comes with being up at 4 AM, but I think I managed to get the script working again on my end:

I am using dx11, so I'm not sure if that changes anything with the functions its calling, but replacing the existing script with this worked on my end.
quoting the solution to the trader problem
included my table for everyone else
edit: the reset vender stock doesn't work which is annoying
edit 2: no i hit custom trade treasure and now i can't undo it
edit 3: no it just doesn't work on Aaron who i need it to work on
I have taken what was posted which seems to work for me. I first Trade with The Vendor (buy 1 item) then SAVE. I then RELOAD that SAVE and then all seems to work including when trading with Aaron. If needed I can post an extract of the CheatEntry I am using. Let me know

Hello everyone,

I tried to search everywhere in the forum but I can't find if what I'm trying to do is possible:
Somehow the romance with Gale is bugged and the scene with the avatar telling you to go in a hidden spot to meet Gale is not happening (and I have left out only the nightsong mission in ACT 2).

There is a way to trigger this scene or dialogue using the SET FLAGS command?
Or I have to find the right code in the game flags table that trigger that scene and put it in another spot on cheat engine?

Thanks a lot in advance

If you simply go to Full Rest, you will be taken to the meeting with Gale. It had me very confused at first, as I could not find where to go.

Sorry my bad, the problem is that during act 2 I had Gale's joke on the first battle, we are dating, but the scene where the avatar appears at the camp isn't happening.

I had already all the romance with Gale on my first run, I'm just trying to help my gf to continue the romance with Gale too but in her game it doesn't trigger and the only mission left in the ACT 2 is the nightsong (and if she free the nightsong the romance line will end as I read somewhere).

My purpose is to trigger the manifestation of Gale's copy in the camp so we can continue the romance (:

You can give this Code a try... It works on my Game. I changed one of my Register Entries to execute this. I named it Partnered with Gale, which is what this does

Code: Select all

[ENABLE]
{$lua}
if syntaxcheck then return end

local uuid = "e008e20d-d642-42ed-9008-297b6273aa21" --Debug_SetReallyTagsToo

local cmdCall = getAddress("cmdCall")
local cmdArgs = getAddress("cmdArgs")
local cmdStr1 = getAddress("cmdStr1")
local cmdStr2 = getAddress("cmdStr2")

PrepareCall("GetHostCharacter")
executeCodeEx(0, nil, cmdCall)

local player = readPointer(cmdArgs + 0x08)
player = readString(player, 256, false)

writeString(cmdStr1, player)
writeBytes(cmdStr1 + #player, 0)

writeString(cmdStr2, uuid)
writeBytes(cmdStr2 + #uuid, 0)

PrepareCall("SetFlag")
writePointer(cmdArgs + 0x08, cmdStr2)
writePointer(cmdArgs + 0x18, cmdStr1)
writeQword(cmdArgs + 0x28, 0)
writeQword(cmdArgs + 0x38, 1)
local result = executeCodeEx(0, nil, cmdCall)
print(result == 1 and "success" or "failure")
{$asm}

This seems like a good idea, I hadn't considered tags much due to there being no obvious dead tag and she still has her normal tags (that are visible on the character sheet)
I tried after reading your reply to remove a tag about being always hostile but it didn't work, the hard part here being I can't seem to figure out what tags she actually has or is lacking from normal, I'll need to really dig into the tags more or search for a command to find out what she has/doesn't have I suppose

I've run into a bug where Ser Aylin doesn't show up at or go to Lorroakan (I'm not sure what is supposed to happen) after telling him about Lorroakan looking for him. After talking to Aylin about Lorroakan, he doesn't leave to go to Ramazith's Tower and never confronts Lorroakan.

Does anyone know how to trigger the right flag manually, either through CheatEngine "console" commands or ScriptExtender?
