The game has encryption that will deter your average joe from modifying it with cheat engine. It even hashes your save file with some others stuff too. I'm guessing the main reason must be the leaderboard and rank of each player that shows every time on the main menu, which makes it some sort of live leaderboard game (sp but borderline mp or consider mp???). In any case, the answer is it's not impossible to cheat on it.
