I spent a week trying to figure out gold but I was unsuccessful. It is really easy to get the 4 byte display value and I was able to get the actual piles of gold to stay the same value but I could not find the actual gold value. I wonder if its some formula that calculates it based on all piles but its some shared op code that keeps changing where things are stored. I tried encrypted values but I was also unsuccessful there. There is a gold debt value that is easy to find and remove the instructions for but somehow even though removing those instructions seem to work, when the item gets built it does subtract it from total gold without showing an instruction. I hope this helps someone else trying to crack it, I gave up and just modified the game data files instead.
