Modifying an obfuscated DLL

I have a DLL that is obfuscated. The DLL handles the authentication system for a program for a game. As far as I know the auth is pretty basic. It opens a socket connection to an IP, then makes requests with the key to retrieve how much time left.
I have figured out the exact line where the IP is set, I would just like to redirect it to my local IP so hopefully I can just return the time. I tried to used Reflexil to edit the dll, but even when saving the clean version (so opened DLL -> save), Reflexil errors trying to save it saying "Value cannot be null"
Can someone help me bypass this auth system?
