Depending on the game that is normal. On small games it will stay low, but big games with extra symbols it can grow to 1 to 2 GB yes Also, if 1GB is too much for you, imagine what an unknown initial value scan will do. try setting a custom scanfolder in scansettings. Likely something us preventing your temp files from being overwritten

You may want to try Beta 3 of CE 6.8 (Link in the chat under bug reports) It should have fixed the editing issue. (Memory scanning works just fine, just don't forget to enable mem_mapped in scan settings if you reset the settings)

It could also just be spambots trying to autogenerate accounts (The more popular a site, the more bots) Tip, block "POST /" access, that's 70% of CE's requests and it does nothing. You should block it before it hits PHP(else it's too late and it'll eat up memory), so add a rule in your webhost proce...
