You can use Hero's Mod for free items, not sure about one-hit kills though; I only know Hero's allows you to do many things, maybe something in there can do something similar.

As far as tmodloader is concerned, there's already a mod for Functional Vanity Slots


I use this with Calamity and have had zero issues with it, regardless of how old it might be; hope it helps you
