Sir Richard's Condoms

Our friends and cottage mates Sir Richard's Condom Company just debuted this brand video at COMMON Pitch NYC. We're really excited to see the momentum Sir Richard's is gaining and the social impact they have on the world. They recently announced an inaugural donation of 500,000 condoms to Haiti.

Wow, fantastic business model and I don't think I have seen a better example of the power of branding, as applied to a social issue. I personally believe that a lack of understanding of the importance of positioning, brand or otherwise, is a key reason why so many social and environmental impact efforts are not adopted by the target beneficiaries.

There are much bigger challenges awaiting you in Africa. In many cultures there women have little influence over male contraception (which is infrequently used in these cases) so efforts are developing to educate around the use of female condoms. But there's an adoption challenge there too.

Looking forward to following along and wish you all the best of luck with your work. Bravo!
