This week, over 150 teams are competing in a Social Media Week related initiative to support creativity in education. Our mission is to brainstorm ideas that preserve, champion, and foster creative education. Some well known folks are judging those ideas, and partners have signed on to pilot test the cream of the crop. It isn't perfect - but it's a start - no one doesn't care about education, but we're rarely called into action or given a way to participate.
The deck above is meant to inspire you, to get your brain limber, and to urge YOU (yes, you there) to put some of your cognitive surplus to work. It was created by myself and The Bucket Brigade - an interdisciplinary network of creative problem solvers who care about confronting complex problems. If you're already a member, this is your first mission. If you aren't, consider yourself conscripted.
The FearLess community has rallied around the idea that if you cut away the fear, and replace it with a little love, there's an amazing amount of good you can accomplish. Please consider participating.
Submit your ideas (by this Friday) using this web form -

That doesn't give us much time. I hope there will be an extension.

Agreed - more time would be better, unfortunately we're working with the constraints of the competition - and since we're crowdsourcing ideas we'll need some time to sort through the submissions, send feedback, and build on ideas. Having said that, we'll probably do our final look-through on Friday afternoon, so if you can get some time to think before then that would be best. If you do, say bang your head on the toilet on Saturday morning and invent the flux capacitor, SUBMIT IT, and email me (reachme at budcaddell dot com) so I'm sure to see it.
Please participate!
My world is filled with engineers and medical doctors. They actually don't think they are creatives! To this I share with them that creativity is just problem solving and that behind every problem there MUST be a blessing. The fun is to see them understand that as we elevate we learn that academics does not feed nor heal the soul.....it's not about perfection but rather that of wholeness. Let's soar!
